In 2026, Madonna is set to release a new album, which she has referred to as a sequel to Confessions on a Dance Floor. When the full-length will drop and whether or not it will be titled to reflect that it is a continuation of her Grammy-winning project is unclear, but what is obvious is that the superstar is in the mood to honor that hugely successful moment in her storied career.
Madonna recently dropped a twentieth anniversary edition of Confessions on a Dance Floor, and interest in the release spiked. The original studio effort debuts on one chart in the United Kingdom and tops another while giving the singer a new bestselling tune in the nation.
Confessions on a Dance Floor Returns to No. 1 After Nearly 20 Years
Confessions on a Dance Floor leads one ranking across the Atlantic this frame as the project reappears out of nowhere on the Official Dance Albums chart. The set has now spent 14 weeks in charge, but it has not landed in the top spot since the summer of 2006, almost 20 years ago.

The same full-length almost conquers the Official Album Downloads ranking, but misses out by just a single space. Madonna is bested this week as Confessions on a Dance Floor returns to the roster by Rosalia’s Lux, which launches at No. 1. Lux earns the Latin superstar her loftiest debut on multiple charts and some of the brightest reviews of her career.
Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor Reaches a New Chart Peak
While Confessions on a Dance Floor might not soar to No. 1 on the Official Album Downloads list, it does hit a new peak as it breaks back onto the ranking of the top-selling titles on platforms like iTunes throughout the U.K. This frame marks the first inside the top 10 for Confessions on a Dance Floor and a new peak for the two-decade-old project.
Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor Debuts on One Chart
Purchases of the twentieth anniversary edition of Confessions on a Dance Floor, paired with the original, help it become a general bestseller as well. For the first time, the dance-pop project appears on the Official Album Sales tally at No. 74.

All of the excitement surrounding the anniversary release of Confessions on a Dance Floor helps another Madonna classic return at the same time. The Immaculate Collection, a compilation of some of her most famous singles, helps the singer-songwriter double up on the Official Album Downloads roster as it reappears at No. 99.
That means that in this frame, Madonna appears in both the second-highest and second-lowest positions simultaneously.
What New Songs are Featured on the Confessions on a Dance Floor Re-Release?
The Confessions on a Dance Floor re-release arrived with multiple remixes of some of the album’s most famous tracks like “Hung Up,” “Sorry,” “Get Together,” and “Jump.” What was perhaps most exciting for fans, both casual and dedicated, were the three tunes written and recorded during that time period that were left off the original full-length tracklist.
Longtime lovers of Madonna may already have been familiar with “Fighting Spirit,” “Super Pop,” and “History,” but others heard them for the first time, and they were apparently very convincing in turning Confessions on a Dance Floor into a bestseller again.
“Super Pop” Gives Madonna Another Bestselling Song
Of those three “new” songs, just one reaches a lone tally in the U.K. “Super Pop” barely manages to reach the Official Singles Downloads chart, entering at No. 100.
Madonna Continues a Surprising 2025 Singles Run
Amazingly, despite the fact that Madonna has not released an album of completely new material in more than half a decade, the pop icon has now racked up five debuts on the Official Singles Downloads tally in 2025 alone. She began with “Live to Tell” in March, and since then “Gone Gone Gone,” “Dress You Up,” “Right on Time,” and now “Super Pop” have all spent one week somewhere on the chart.
