The 2026 Met Gala will feature a star-studded slate of co-chairs. Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams will join Anna Wintour to host the annual fundraiser benefiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, Vogue announced Wednesday, Dec. 10.

The annual fashion event will mark Beyoncé’s first Met Gala appearance in a decade; her last was in 2016 for the “Manus x Machina” gala, where she wore Givenchy Haute Couture. Kidman and Williams, meanwhile, have been regular attendees over the years, including at this past May’s gala, themed “Tailored for You,” which celebrated Black style and the history of dandyism.

For Wintour, 2026 will be her first Met Gala since stepping down as Vogue’s editor-in-chief in June, though she remains Condé Nast’s global chief content officer and Vogue’s global editorial director. She has co-chaired and overseen the Met Gala since 1995, and she reportedly has “final say” over every A-list invitation and attendee, according to The New York Times.

Vogue also revealed the 2026 Met Gala Host Committee lineup, co-chaired by Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz. Additional members include Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, LISA, Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson and Yseult. More committee members will be announced at a later date, the publication said.

Has The 2026 Met Gala Theme And Dress Code Been Announced Yet?

Last month, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute unveiled its spring exhibition, “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton. The exhibit, which examines the relationship between clothing and the body, will influence the creative direction of the 2026 Met Gala, though the official dress code has yet to be announced.

The exhibition will be organized into a series of thematic body types — from “The Naked Body” to “The Pregnant Body” to “The Aging Body” — and will “include garments and artworks from across The Met’s vast collection, and feature both historical and contemporary pieces from the Costume Institute,” per Vogue.

Bolton said in a press release that he wanted to “focus on the centrality of the dressed body within the museum, connecting artistic representations of the body with fashion as an embodied art form.”

“Costume Art” will also serve as the inaugural show in The Met’s new Condé Nast Galleries, a nearly 12,000-square-foot space next to the Great Hall. The exhibition opens to the public shortly after the gala, running from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027.

Stay tuned for more details, including the official 2026 Met Gala dress code.
