Here’s Why An Economist Predicts Even Higher Prices After Tariff Refunds

Back in February, President Donald Trump’s trade agenda suffered a major blow when the Supreme Court struck down the majority of his tariffs. Now, the Trump administration has to refund the $166 billion collected from these now-illegal tariffs to around 300,000 different importers. Businesses that officially paid the IEEPA tariffs could request a refund starting this week through a portal launched by Customs and Border Protection. Alex Durante, a senior economist at the Tax Foundation, joined “Forbes Newsroom” to discuss.
