Goldberg vs. Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event concludes a wild Saturday that defines the ongoing wrestling war through 2025.
Saturday, July 12 will feature AEW All In Texas, AEW’s biggest event of the year. All In Texas is the reason WWE is not only airing Saturday Night’s Main Event, but also a high-stakes retirement match as Goldberg vies for Gunther’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Given the magnitude of this weekend, SNME is likely to be a newsworthy show. The key to WWE picking a fight with AEW this weekend is ensuring moments that can steal headlines.

WWE SNME Preview And Predictions
Solo Sikoa Vs. Jimmy Uso
Solo Sikoa is a poor man’s Seth Rollins in that he’s a rising heel with a new stable. Solo has been very entertaining in his breakout role, and I don’t see him dropping the United States Championship this early in to his run. That moment is far more likely to happen at SummerSlam.
Prediction: Solo Sikoa def. Jimmy Uso
Seth Rollins Vs. LA Knight
LA Knight feels like a pig to slaughter as a top star currently feuding with the top stable on Raw. Seth Rollins becoming world champion seems inevitable. In fact, I expect the night to conclude with a Rollins cash-in. That’s actually why I think LA Knight will spring the upset, thereby giving Rollins a ready made first opponent in a world title match.
The last time Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 31, he lost in spectacular fashion to Randy Orton in one of the greatest finishes to a WrestleMania match in history. This time around, I expect LA Knight to beat Rollins en route to history repeating itself as Rollins ruins Goldberg’s big moment in Atlanta.
Prediction: LA Knight def. Seth Rollins
Randy Orton Vs. Drew McIntyre
Randy Orton is beginning a slow, deliberate heel turn while Drew McIntyre may be headed the opposite direction after taking some time off. In fact, McIntyre’s last match was a Steel Cage Match against Damian Priest at Saturday Night’s Main Event back in May.
Following SmackDown, however, Orton is fully entrenched as a babyface after an excellent segment with Jelly Roll opposite superheel Logan Paul. I can see McIntyre defeating Orton in his return match, thereby setting up a celebrity tag team match at SummerSlam.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre def. Randy Orton
Gunther Vs. Goldberg
Gunther’s defeat of Jey Uso was shocking at the time, but in hindsight, it makes sense as it was partly to set up a Babyface vs. Heel match between Goldberg and Gunther. Gunther has spent over 80% of his tenure in WWE as a champion. A loss to a WWE Hall of Famer will not hurt Gunther no matter how much WWE Twitter whines about it. Goldberg was easily the most over person in the building this past Monday on Raw, and fans in Atlanta will be clamoring to see their hometown star make history in what is allegedly his last match.
The wrestling world just celebrated the 27th anniversary of Goldberg’s first world title win over Hulk Hogan on the July 6, 1998 broadcast of Nitro. With nostalgia filling the air, it would only feel right for Goldberg to slay the dragon that is Gunther, before Seth Rollins cashes in his briefcase to become the biggest heel in Atlanta.
