As the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was underway on Saturday at a D.C. Hilton hotel, a gunman tried rushing a security checkpoint and exchanged in gunfire with Secret Service agents. The shooting occurred just yards away from the ballroom where President Donald Trump, members of his administration, and journalists were gathered for the event.
