The Diablo video game series, sold by Blizzard Entertainment, has become something of a hub for alternative musicians. Multiple artists, including pop singer Halsey and BTS member Suga, have contributed to the brand, and this week on the Billboard charts, the song that accompanies Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred nearly rises to No. 1, but it is blocked from the summit by an even more popular collaboration.
Korn’s “Reward The Scars” Jumps To No. 2
Korn recently released a new single titled “Reward The Scars” in collaboration with Diablo IV and Blizzard Entertainment. Last week, “Reward The Scars” debuted at No. 9 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, Billboard’s list of the bestselling tunes in that rock subgenre via platforms like iTunes, Amazon, and more. “Reward The Scars” opened in ninth place on the 10-space roster, and now it’s all the way up to No. 2.
MGK And Fred Durst Block Korn From No. 1
Only one single keeps Korn from a new champion on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, and it’s the track that started in first place last week. At the same time that “Reward The Scars” launched closer to the bottom of the roster, MGK
Korn’s “Narcissistic Cannibal” Remains Its Only No. 1
Korn has racked up a lucky 13 top 10 hits on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, but so far, only one leader. In November 2011, the group joined Skrillex and Kill The Noise for the electronic and dark “Narcissistic Cannibal.” That collaboration opened in the peak position and wound up spending a total of three weeks in that spot.
Korn’s “Reward The Scars” Joins Other No. 2-Charters
“Reward The Scars” is now the fifth single by Korn to fail to rule the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart by just one space. That’s nearly half of all the tracks by the group that have broken into the top 10. “Reward The Scars” joins “Blind,” “You’ll Never Find Me,” “Rotting In Vain,” and “Get Up!,” a second collaboration with Skrillex, by peaking at No. 2, at least thus far.
Korn’s “Reward The Scars” Debuts on Multiple Charts
Korn earns new top 10s on two additional lists as “Reward The Scars” arrives. On the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, the track launches at No. 3, and Korn collects its third placement between Nos. 1 and 10 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales list. “Reward The Scars” opens in tenth place. Korn claims four top 10s in its discography on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart.
“Reward The Scars” ties with “You’ll Never Find Me,” while “Blind” and “Get Up!” with Skrillex climbed higher, stalling at Nos. 5 and 7, respectively, on the Alternative Digital Song Sales tally. “Reward The Scars” is now Korn’s second-highest-ranking hit ever on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. It trails “Start The Healing,” which peaked at No. 2 in 2021. “Can You Hear Me” only ever lifted as high as No. 6.
Korn’s “Reward The Scars” Misses the Top 10 on One List
“Reward The Scars” only fails to enter the top 10 on one of the four Billboard charts where it currently appears. It is on the Rock Digital Song Sales ranking where Korn’s latest misses that space, at least as it earns its first stay. “Reward The Scars” debuts at No. 13, becoming the band’s eleventh placement.
Korn’s Greatest Hits Vol. 1 Climbs on Several Rankings
The success of “Reward The Scars” seems to be having a positive impact on the sole Korn album that’s still charting in America – as is the disappearance of many Record Store Day releases. Greatest Hits Vol. 1 steps up one spot to No. 12 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, and from No. 50, last place, to No. 43 on the Top Rock and Alternative Albums ranking.
