All four members of The Beatles — Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr — enjoyed successful solo careers after the breakup of the most successful band of all time. Lennon’s ran for about a decade until his murder in 1980. McCartney, via his band Wings and then entirely on his own, and Harrison also enjoyed lengthy runs with a number of bestselling albums and huge hits.
Starr’s catalog under his own name is not nearly as packed with smashes as those belonging to his bandmates, though in recent years, his fate seems to have improved. Now in his 80s, Starr seems to have found new fans, or perhaps those who have been there all along are turning up in larger numbers than ever before to support his latest projects.
Starr returns to the Billboard charts this week with Long Long Road, his twenty-second full-length on his own. As the project lands, it immediately becomes one of his top performers in America.
Long Long Road Debuts Inside the Top 10
Between the two charts where Long Long Road debuts this week, it reaches the top 10 on one of them. The former Beatle’s latest solo collection arrives at No. 9 on Billboard’s list of the bestselling releases in the country, the Top Album Sales chart. According to Luminate, Long Long Road sold 8,500 copies between CD, cassette, vinyl, and digital download in the U.S. alone during its initial tracking period of availability.
Noah Kahan And Foo Fighters Lead All Bestselling Albums
Starr claims the sixth-highest-ranking debut on the Top Album Sales chart this week. The ranking is dominated by Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide, which launches in first place. The next two rungs are filled by Kehlani’s self-titled affair and Foo Fighters’ Your Favorite Toy. Those new arrivals settle in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Jason Aldean’s Songs About Us enters the Top Album Sales chart at No. 5. One space ahead of Starr’s newest set is Michael Jackson’s Michael: Songs From the Motion Picture (Soundtrack).

Several other new releases from acts like Meghan Trainor, Metric, and At the Gates also debut on the Top Album Sales list this frame. The roster contains a number of returning favorites which reappear thanks to the loss of quite a few Record Store Day-related releases.
The highest-ranking comeback is Kahan’s Stick Season, which reenters the list at No. 10, helping him bookend the top 10. Further down on the tally come former bestsellers from Elvis Presley, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd, and several sets by Katseye and Jackson.
Look Up Remains Ringo Starr’s Biggest Seller
Starr immediately doubles his top 10s count on the Top Album Sales chart as Long Long Road arrives. The project misses out on reaching the No. 7 position, where Look Up launched in January 2025. Zoom In nearly helped him break into the region for the first time back in 2021, but instead of finding its way to the top 10, the EP stalled at No. 11.

Ringo 2012 Holds as Ringo Starr’s Highest-Rising Win
Starr has sent 15 releases to the Top Album Sales chart, but most of them would not land on the list if they were released today. The roster currently features just 50 spaces. Several of Starr’s bestsellers like Vertical Man, Postcards From Paradise, and Ringo 2012 only spent short stints when the ranking included 100 — or in some cases, even more — slots.
Ringo Starr Earns a New Vinyl Bestseller in America
Long Long Road also becomes an instant bestseller on wax, and this week, it debuts at No. 15 on the Vinyl Albums chart. Starr doubles his appearances on that format-specific list, but sadly, Long Long Road is not the top performer between the pair. Ringo 2012 spent one week at No. 6 back in 2012, and Starr has not appeared on the tally since.
