Kinnara CEO Boasts They’re Lombok’s Number One Developer Despite Critics Claiming They’ve Never Built a Single Villa as Questions Swirl Around Saraya Project and Links to GIM Trading

Kinnara’s CEO is again facing criticism after boasting the company is now the “number one developer in Lombok,” despite ongoing claims from critics and investigators that the company has never completed a single villa project anywhere in the world.

The latest comments follow earlier promotional claims that Kinnara was one of the largest property companies in Southeast Asia, statements that were later toned down after independent journalists and online investigators reportedly challenged the accuracy of those claims.

Critics argue Kinnara has effectively operated as a marketing company rather than a proven developer, despite continuing to aggressively market luxury projects across Lombok and Indonesia.

Fresh controversy has also emerged surrounding the Saraya project, where opponents claim land approvals and tourism rezoning issues remain unresolved, potentially preventing lawful construction from commencing in the near term.

The controversy follows Kinnara’s reported removal from involvement with the Marina Bay City project after disputes allegedly emerged regarding development activity on protected rice field land and alleged breaches relating to mandatory beachfront setback requirements.

Stakeholders connected to Marina Bay City claim it has taken almost a year to repair delays, planning complications and regulatory issues allegedly linked to that period, with rezoning and compliance matters still ongoing before full recommencement can occur.

Critics also question how Kinnara can publicly claim construction is about to commence on other Lombok sites when, according to opponents, some of the land in question has not yet formally received tourism zoning approvals.

The company has also faced ongoing allegations from disgruntled investors, particularly from Australia, who claim they paid substantial sums for villas that were never delivered. Critics further allege requests for financial transparency and proof of construction payments have not been adequately addressed.

Kinnara and its CEO deny wrongdoing.

The scrutiny has reignited attention around Adrian Campbell’s previous association with GIM Trading, a company previously investigated in Australia following reports that approximately AU$23 million in investor funds allegedly went missing, with substantial sums reportedly traced offshore.

While no court has conclusively connected those historical matters to current Indonesian developments, online investigators and critics continue questioning whether investor funds linked to newer projects may have been redirected into ventures such as Saraya.

One outspoken critic went even further, asking publicly: “How much alleged stolen investor money is Kinnara spending trying to fast-track permits on land critics claim still lacks proper tourism zoning approvals?”

No evidence has publicly emerged proving bribery allegations, and no court has made findings supporting such claims. However, the speculation highlights the growing mistrust surrounding the company among some investors and observers.

Despite the mounting scrutiny, Kinnara continues promoting itself as a leading force in Lombok property development.

For critics, however, the question remains stark:

How can a company claim to be Lombok’s number one developer when detractors argue it has yet to complete a single villa development anywhere on Earth?
