Today, HOORAE, the culture-driven media company founded by Issa Rae, continues to expand its footprint in audio with the release of its newest original podcast, BLOCC PARTY: An Insecure Podcast, the first episode of which is available. Hosted by Issa Rae, the creator, executive producer, and star of the Emmy-nominated HBO comedy series Insecure, alongside Prentice Penny, the show’s acclaimed showrunner, the podcast celebrates a decade of the groundbreaking series. It reflects on how it continues to shape cultural conversations around identity, relationships, and modern storytelling, both on screen and in real life. BLOCC PARTY is now available on Audioboom, with additional distribution across YouTube via HOORAE Media. The podcast will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

HOORAE Media is a diversified media company at the forefront of entertainment, digital, music, and culture. Through its four divisions – HOORAE Film & Television, Raedio, Ensemble, and ColorCreative – the company operates a fully integrated, end-to-end infrastructure that powers the company’s diverse slate of successful film and television franchises, digital series, audio initiatives, and roster of music and on-screen talent. Since its founding, HOORAE Media has championed distinctive voices and empowered storytellers through purpose-driven initiatives to expand access, opportunity, and representation across the entertainment industry.

The podcast offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the moments that made Insecure a defining series of its time. Through candid conversations, the hosts revisit iconic episodes, unpack fan favorite storylines, and explore the show’s lasting influence on storytelling, relationships, and representation. The podcast features conversations with key creatives, including Melina Matsoukas, the director of Insecure, and Amy Aniobi, the head writer of Insecure, among others. With new episodes released weekly, the podcast creates space for deeper, nuanced dialogue, continuing the conversations that resonated with audiences worldwide.

“With the upcoming 10th anniversary of Insecure premiering felt like the perfect time to revisit the show with Issa,” says Penny. “We wanted to let people know how we crafted the show with the people who contributed heavily along the way. Issa and I are often asked what inspired us to make various episodes, and the podcast gave us the ability to take a deeper dive into those subjects. We can’t wait for our fans to hear what we have coming!”

Together, Issa and Prentice bring their authenticity, humor, and insight to BLOCC PARTY, creating a space that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. As HOORAE continues to expand its presence across audio, film, and digital platforms, the podcast stands as a testament to the company’s ability to extend cultural impact beyond the screen.
