Netflix Announces ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Global Concert Tour – How To Get Tickets

At Netflix upfronts, the streaming service has just made a big, but rather curious announcement. There will be a new KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour, bringing HUNTR/X to life. Kind of. Maybe?

Here’s what the description says, and details are pretty light on what exactly this is going to be:

“There’s a reason so many of the most electrifying moments in KPop Demon Hunters happen during HUNTR/X’s sold-out concerts — only a crowd that loud and united can generate enough Honmoon love to keep the demon realm at bay.”

“Soon you will be able to feel that golden energy in real life. Netflix is teaming up with AEG Presents to launch a KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour, a live experience that will bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular ways. Join the waitlist below to be notified as more information and ticket details are announced.”

It has “elements” of the film, and a new tweet online says it will be a concert tour “inspired by” KPop Demon Hunters. So…what is this?

It seems very clear it is not what you could at least imagine an ultimate version of this idea would be, the real-life HUNTR/X vocal artists, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, in costume (helpfully, they look like Rumi, Mira and Zoey already) and singing the movie’s hits. But if it was that, clearly that would have been announced along with this. Now I’m picturing something like when I took my son to Paw Patrol Live and those were NOT real dogs.

Netflix is having people “RSVP” to the event at this link here, where they will be sent notifications when tickets go on sale, and which global cities this is actually coming to. My Paw Patrol comments aside, AEG is a huge player in the concert space, so I would hope this at least features something more interesting than cosplayers lip-syncing.

More questions here include how a show like this would work. As famous as the movie may be, there are only four fully HUNTR/X songs from the movie, one with Jinu and Rumo and then two Saja Boys songs. So, how does that work, exactly? I also wonder how this may play into the fact that, for whatever reason, the live-action singers have only ever sung Golden live about a thousand times, while the rest of the soundtrack is ignored. Is this what everyone was waiting for? And I’m wondering if this goes past music and we’re going to see like, choreographed stage play demon fighting or something.

It is a little odd to announce this with so few details given out, but it’s certainly going to be of interest to the millions of KPop Demon Hunters fans out there, including my own children. And me. It’s a good movie! I guess just sign up at that link, and there will be more to come.
