Since his earliest days of commercial success, Bruno Mars has been a favorite among radio DJs throughout the United States. Radio is more important in America than anywhere else, and the singer-songwriter has dominated the airwaves for a decade and a half at this point.

Throughout that time, Mars has racked up nearly a dozen No. 1s on Billboard‘s Radio Songs chart, and several of those tunes have lived in the peak position for months at a time. The superstar’s latest track to top the tally, “I Just Might,” which fronted his latest album, The Romantic, is steady in first place once more. As “I Just Might” holds at the Radio Songs roster’s summit, it ties the singer’s own best run, and soon it could rank as one of the longest-running No. 1s of all time.

Bruno Mars Holds at No. 1 With “I Just Might”

“I Just Might” once again controls the Radio Songs chart, meaning it is the most successful tune across all airplay formats throughout the U.S. The first single from The Romantic has now spent 17 weeks on the list, and an even dozen of those have been at No. 1.

“I Just Might” Matches “Uptown Funk!” at Radio

As “I Just Might” reaches its 12 frames atop the Radio Songs chart, it matches Mars’s most impressive stretch in the penthouse. The Grammy winner previously accomplished that feat with “Uptown Funk!,” his collaboration with Mark Ronson. Starting in February 2015, “Uptown Funk!” led the charge for 12 weeks out of the 54 – just over a year – that it spent somewhere on the roster.

Bruno Mars Blocks Olivia Dean and Kehlani from No. 1

For several weeks now, “I Just Might” has refused to give up its control over the Radio Songs chart’s highest space, and a handful of huge hits have been held back from climbing to No. 1. Steady at No. 2 is “Folded” by Kehlani. Just behind that lands “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” by Olivia Dean. The U.K. superstar’s latest American smash holds at its No. 3 high, while Dean’s only No. 1 on the Radio Songs tally, “Man I Need,” is comfortable at No. 4.

“I Just Might” Leads Multiple Billboard Charts

Mars’s incredible track record when it comes to producing hits, his popularity among the masses and those who choose what songs are played on the radio, and the cross-genre appeal of “I Just Might” all play a role in landing at No. 1 12 times. Currently, “I Just Might” appears on half a dozen additional radio-aimed rankings in the U.S. The song is comfortable leading the Adult Pop Airplay tally, and it keeps at No. 2 on the Pop Airplay chart, after already reaching the summit. “I Just Might” also lives inside the top 10 on both the Adult Contemporary and Rhythmic Airplay lists, while declining again on the Adult R&B Airplay (No. 19) and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (No. 44) rundowns.

“Risk It All” Hasn’t Reached the Top 10 Yet – But It Is Close

The second single taken from The Romantic, titled “Risk It All,” has been aiming to break into the Radio Songs chart’s top 10 for some time, but so far it hasn’t managed to do so. For yet another frame, “Risk It All” sits just outside that region, as it keeps at No. 11, its all-time peak. The continued popularity of “I Just Might” could help fuel “Risk It All,” and soon it may become Mars’s twenty-second top 10 smash on the tally.
