Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’ Becomes A Rare Longstanding Smash For The Band

Despite the fact that Fleetwood Mac has not released a new official single in a long time, and no new music is expected from the group, the band can always be found on the United Kingdom’s Official Singles chart. The tally ranks the most-consumed tracks in that country, with both sales and streams determining where a track lands. According to the Official Charts Company, each artist can only fill three spaces at a time as a lead artist, and more often than not, Fleetwood Mac scores a trio of smashes with decades-old tracks.

That’s the case again this frame, as three of the act’s most beloved compositions rank among the most popular across the Atlantic, and one reaches a rarely seen milestone.

Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” Has Charted for 150 Weeks

Among Fleetwood Mac’s three current hits on the Official Singles chart, “Everywhere” is the lowest-peaking this time around. The song slips from No. 79 to No. 84, but the fact that it is present at all is impressive. As “Everywhere” once again finds space on the most competitive songs roster in the U.K., it reaches 150 weeks on the tally.

Fleetwood Mac Claims a Second Long-Running Hit

It remains an incredibly rare showing for any tune to live on the Official Singles chart for triple-digit frames, but “Everywhere” is not even Fleetwood Mac’s first song to do so. The group’s longest-running success is “Dreams,” which is now up to 168 stays somewhere on the rundown – a figure that grows again this week.

Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” and “Landslide” Appear as Well

Speaking of “Dreams,” that song is steady at No. 66 on the Official Singles chart. It sits in the middle of Fleetwood Mac’s three smashes, settling ahead of “Everywhere” and behind “Landslide.” That latter classic improves by one peg and makes a home at No. 49. While both “Dreams” and “Everywhere” are counted among the unlikely 100-week-or-more charters, “Landslide” has only spent 19 turns somewhere on the list.

“Everywhere” Reached the Top 10 Decades Ago

“Everywhere” may be Fleetwood Mac’s lowest-peaking cut at the moment, but between the group’s three successes, it is the only one that has cracked the top 10. The single, which debuted on the roster in April 1988, only needed four weeks to climb to its high of No. 4. It is counted among Fleetwood Mac’s 10 top 10s on the busy register.

Fleetwood Mac Remains a Streaming Success

While Fleetwood Mac’s music continues to sell well to this day, it is streams on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify that play the largest role in keeping the band on the charts in the U.K. This time around, Fleetwood Mac fills three spaces on the Official Streaming chart, though not with the same compositions that land on the main singles tally.

“Dreams” is comfortable at No. 48, “Everywhere” climbs two spaces to No. 70, and “The Chain” breaks back in at No. 98. Notably, while “Landslide” is the group’s loftiest placement on the Official Singles chart, it does not appear on the Official Streaming ranking.

Fleetwood Mac May Never Enjoy This Feat Again

It’s possible that Fleetwood Mac may never see another hit reach 100 weeks on the Official Singles chart, as none of the band’s other two dozen-plus tracks that have ever appeared on the roster are close to that landmark figure. The Grammy-winning outfit’s next-longest-charting smash remains “The Chain,” which is only up to 31 stints on the list.
