This week the PGA Tour prepares for another event, and it is the final primer for many players ahead of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills next week. Following the dramatic finish of the Memorial Tournament last week, the hope is the full field event for RBC Canadian Open will live up to the hype.
The RBC Canadian Open is held at the TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, the North Course, which is a Par 70 design that stretches 7,389 yards in length. Unlike signature events, this is a full field event, and many players’ last chance at qualifying for the U.S. Open.
The vast majority of the big name players are not in this tournament field, instead opting to prepare for the next major, but it’s still important to take a look at the past winners of this event:

When it comes to picks for this event, I like to start with my favorite and long shot picks for the tournament. The favorite pick is the pick I like the most for an outright winner. For the long shot winner, that is a golfer who has over +2000 odds to win. It is a long shot pick for a reason, and finding those can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Here are my favorite and long shot picks for the 2026 RBC Canadian Open:
Favorite: Sam Burns (+1325)
Long Shot: Aaron Rai (+4000)
Sam Burns has been very close to breaking through for his latest PGA Tour victory the past two seasons, but has come up just short. Of course there was the 2025 U.S. Open where he fell off in the final round coming out of the weather delay and losing to J.J. Spaun.
There was also a final round meltdown in the 2026 Masters before he failed to make the necessary shots to make his way into the playoff at the Memorial tournament. I have a hunch he’s due for a complete performance, and with this field I’ll take those odds.
As for the long-shot play, I was stunned this year’s PGA Championship winner, Aaron Rai, was getting those type of odds. For a long shot play, I’ll take Rai, and his consistency, as a long shot play.
Top 5 Bets For the RBC Canadian Open 2026
- Tommy Fleetwood (+235)
- Wyndham Clark (+460)
Fleetwood and Clark were both in the mix at the end of the Memorial last week at Murfield Village, and neither could come through when it mattered the most. Nonetheless, I think both of these players are trending in a positive direction entering the second third of the PGA Tour schedule.
Having Fleetwood and Clark near the top of the leaderboard is not a crazy suggestion, and getting those type of odds it seemed like a no-brainer.
Top 10 Picks For the RBC Canadian Open 2026
- Justin Rose (+235)
- Shane Lowry (+290)
I swore I’d stay away from Justin Rose until he figured things out with his new irons, and that time seems to have come. Rose is putting together more solid rounds, like he was at the start of the 2026 season, and having him finish in the Top 10 is a solid bet with those odds.
Likewise, Shane Lowry was a player who seemed broken after his collapse during the Florida swing of the PGA Tour season, but seems to have found something in his game recently. Lowry has always been a great Top 10 bet, and we’re hoping that comes through this weekend in Canada.
Top 20 Value Picks For the RBC Canadian Open 2026
- Brooks Koepka (+130)
- Alex Fitzpatrick (+160)
Koepka has been the odd man out at signature events like last week’s Memorial Tournament, which has given him plenty of time to rest and recover leading up to the U.S. Open. Koepka’s game has been anything but steady this season, and the hope is he can find just enough to finish in the Top 20.
Unlike Koepka, Alex Fitzpatrick has been lights out since he and his brother won the 2026 Zurich Classic in New Orleans. That victory gave him his tour card, and he hasn’t disappointed. Fitzpatrick is coming off yet another strong showing, and looks right at home on the PGA Tour. I think he continues his steady play in Canada as his final tune-up before Shinnecock Hills.
Best Prop Bets, Parlays And Bonus Plays for The RBC Canadian Open
For bonus plays, these are picks which I don’t necessarily hang my hat on, but still provide value for some who want more exotic plays outside of the aforementioned picks. Sometimes bonus plays are parlays, double chances, triple chances, and even some fun plays for that particular event.
