Drake Matches Adele In A Historic Feat

Drake’s latest album Iceman is comfortable once again in first place on the Billboard 200. The set – which arrived at the same time as another two complete projects, Habibti and Maid of Honour – debuted at No. 1 on the list of the most-consumed albums in the United States three weeks ago. Since then, it has not backtracked.

As the Canadian hip-hop superstar adds to his ever-growing accumulation of weeks spent at No. 1 on the U.S. albums chart, he breaks his tie with one of the most successful male soloists of all time – and matches one of the most beloved female vocalists.

Drake Ties Adele with Another Week at No. 1

As Iceman earns its third turn on the Billboard 200’s throne, Drake hits 40 career weeks at No. 1 on the chart. He and Adele are now on the same level, according to Billboard, and the two jointly claim the ninth-most frames running the show among all acts.

Drake Passes Elton John’s Billboard 200 Record

Just last week, Drake tied Elton John’s 39 career turns at No. 1 on the competitive tally as Iceman scored its second consecutive week dominating. Drake broke his match with both Fleetwood Mac and The Rolling Stones as he advanced and landed alongside the “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” hitmaker.

Drake Will Likely Pass Adele

In a few days, there’s a high likelihood that Iceman will once again appear at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as Drake doesn’t seem to face much competition in terms of leading the way. He will almost certainly pass Adele, but after that, it seems that he will have to finally step aside.

On Friday (June 12), Olivia Rodrigo released her new album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. After that project enjoys its first full seven-day tracking period of availability, it stands a great chance at debuting atop the Billboard 200, just like her past two studio efforts, Sour and Guts, have managed.

Olivia Rodrigo May Stop Drake’s Run at No. 1

If Rodrigo does start You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, pushing Iceman out of the spotlight, Rodrigo will keep Drake from advancing once more on the list of artists that have spent the most time in charge of the albums tally. Morgan Wallen sits just two frames ahead of Drake, with 42 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The rapper could hit that figure this summer if Iceman returns to the penthouse, or perhaps in the unlikely case that it stops You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love from opening in the uppermost slot.

The Beatles Remain Far Ahead of Everyone Else

The Beatles remain in a distant first place on the ranking of artists that have spent the most time at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 so far. The group is the only name to rack up triple-digit stays on the top floor, as the Fab Four have managed 132 weeks at No. 1.

Taylor Swift will soon become the next star to pass that threshold as she is up to 98 stints running the show. In between the singer-songwriter and where Drake and Adele currently sit are Elvis Presley (67 weeks), Garth Brooks (52), Michael Jackson (51), The Kingston Trio (46) and Whitney Houston.
