Hours before he released his highly anticipated album Iceman, Drake shocked millions of fans around the world by announcing he had more music ready to share than anyone expected. The hip-hop talent had been promoting Iceman for months, but what nobody outside of his circle knew was that the set was one of three that would arrive at the same time.

Iceman dropped alongside Habibti and Maid of Honour, and all three projects turned into immediate top performers in the United States after their first full tracking period finished. Drake became the first artist to occupy the highest trio of spaces on the Billboard 200, the company’s ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in America. As Iceman debuted at No. 1, Habibti kicked off its time at No. 2, and Maid of Honour debuted in third place.

While both Zebra and Maid of Honor have stepped back on the Billboard 200 multiple times, Iceman has continued to rule the most competitive albums roster in the nation. As the project earns yet another stay in the penthouse, Drake breaks his recently-set tie with one of the most successful female singers of all time and advances again on an important all-time list.

Drake Reaches 41 Weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200

Drake’s Iceman is steady atop the Billboard 200 for a fourth consecutive period. As it keeps in first place, the Canadian musician’s total time spent at No. 1 on the albums chart increases to 41 weeks. Drake now solely claims the ninth-most periods spent in the driver’s seat, according to the chart company.

Drake Passes Adele’s No. 1 Week Count

Last period, when Iceman scored its third turn ruling the Billboard 200, Drake matched with Adele for the honor of claiming the ninth-most weeks atop the tally. The two superstars had both racked up 40 weeks ruling the Billboard 200. Now, Drake has pulled ahead of the British singer-songwriter, who descends slightly to tenth place.

Drake Could Tie Morgan Wallen

Drake is now just one week at No. 1 away from forming another bond. If he can collect another turn ruling the Billboard 200, he will advance again and match Morgan Wallen’s 42 weeks in charge. It seems like a certainty that at some point, Drake will return to the Billboard 200’s summit, but it will not be next week.

Olivia Rodrigo’s third full-length, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, is destined to launch atop the tally, perhaps with one of the largest starting sums of the year. When it does, the Grammy-winning pop and rock superstar will collect her third consecutive ruler.

The Beatles Remain Far Ahead of Every Other Act

Drake has a very long way to go before he challenges the artist that sits atop the ranking for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The Beatles have laid claim to this honor for decades, and the band may never be bested. The Fab Four racked up a total of 132 frames in charge of the Billboard 200.

No other artist has cracked triple-digit periods at the summit, though Taylor Swift only needs two more weeks before she joins the Beatles. Here is the ranking of artists with the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

  • 132 weeks – The Beatles
  • 98 weeks – Taylor Swift
  • 67 weeks – Elvis Presley
  • 52 weeks – Garth Brooks
  • 51 weeks – Michael Jackson
  • 46 weeks – The Kingston Trio, Whitney Houston
  • 42 weeks – Morgan Wallen
  • 41 weeks – Drake
  • 40 weeks – Adele

Iceman Becomes Drake’s Fourth-Longest Leader

Iceman became Drake’s milestone fifteenth No. 1 when it debuted atop the Billboard 200. He and Taylor Swift sit side-by-side and both claim the second-most rulers ever, behind only the Beatles. That group racked up 19 winners. Only half a dozen titles by Drake have led the charge for more than one frame, and coincidentally, as Iceman hits four weeks in the top spot, it becomes his fourth-longest-running ruler.
