A week after her brand new album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love debuted on the Billboard charts, Olivia Rodrigo’s latest is comfortable at No. 1. The set scores a second week ruling all half-dozen tallies it currently appears on, and You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love could continue to rule for several more frames, depending on the roster and what competition arises.

When You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love launched, so too did many of the songs featured on its track list. Several had been previously pushed as singles, but everything Rodrigo held back until the album was available in full landed across Billboard‘s rock and alternative rankings, as well as more competitive rundowns, such as the Billboard Hot 100.

But just because You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love keeps exactly where it debuted last week does not mean that all of the songs are steady. In fact, almost every single tune featured on the full-length falls on the genre-specific rosters they inhabit – all but one album cut, which seems to already be a fan favorite.

Olivia Rodrigo’s “Expectations” Becomes a Fan Favorite

Eight tracks featured on You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love appear on the same three Billboard charts. “The Cure,” “Maggots for Brains,” “Expectations,” “My Way,” “What’s Wrong with Me,” a collaboration with the Cure frontman Robert Smith, “U + Me = <3,” “Cigarette Smoke” and “Purple” can all be found on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Alternative Songs and Alternative Streaming Songs charts. Among that bunch, one or two titles keep where they started their journeys last frame, while everything else is on the decline – except for “Expectations.”

“Expectations” Rises to New Peaks on Several Charts

In its second week on the Billboard charts, “Expectations” dips on non-genre-focused tallies and climbs to new highs on the aforementioned three lists. “Expectations” pushes from No. 6 to No. 4 on the Alternative Streaming Songs rundown. At the same time, it improves just one slot to sixth place on both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs rosters.

“Expectations” Ties as One of Olivia Rodrigo’s Bigger Hits

When looking at the Alternative Streaming Songs chart, “Expectations” ties as one of Rodrigo’s ninth highest-ranking hits. It’s now on the same level as “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” and “What’s Wrong with Me,” which is also featured on You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

On the Hot Alternative Songs tally, “Expectations” is one of Rodrigo’s twelfth highest-ranking smashes. It’s on the same level as “So American,” “Pretty Isn’t Pretty” and “U + Me = <3.”

“Expectations” is now one of Rodrigo’s eleventh highest-rising successes on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, the most competitive list published by Billboard concerning those styles. As it advances ever so slightly, “Expectations” matches “Love Is Embarrassing” and “U + Me = <3,” which descends, making room for “Expectations” to grow.

“Drop Dead” Reaches the Top 10

“Expectations” is the only track featured on You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love that has not yet been pushed as a single that climbs to never-before-seen peaks this week, but it is not the only tune on the album that establishes new highs. “Drop Dead,” the first single from the full-length, which arrived back in mid-April, breaks into the top 10 for the first time on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, surging from No. 11 to No. 10.

Rodrigo scores her sixth appearance inside that tier. At the same time, “Drop Dead” nearly finds its way into the same arena on the Radio Songs chart, but narrowly misses out on becoming a top 10 smash. “Drop Dead” instead ascends from No. 14 to No. 12 in its tenth frame on the list, which details the songs that rack up the largest total number of audience impressions across all radio stations in the country.
