Beyoncé has spent decades collecting hits on the Billboard charts, but one of her newest wins is actually a song she recorded many years ago. “Morning Dew (Donk),” which is set to appear on the forthcoming twentieth anniversary edition of her second solo album, B’Day, immediately becomes another smash for the superstar.
The previously unreleased track – though some diehard fans had already heard a leaked version – debuts on eight Billboard charts this week, and it manages a top 10 start on five lists. It nearly gives Beyoncé another No. 1 on one R&B-focused tally, but one of the most famous songs in pop history from a late global superstar keeps her from reaching the summit.
Beyoncé Nearly Debuts Her Song at No. 1
“Morning Dew (Donk)” opens at No. 2 on the R&B Streaming Songs chart, which ranks the most-streamed R&B tunes in the United States on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. The track misses becoming Beyoncé’s sixth champion on the roster by only one space. No other Beyoncé tune has stalled in the runner-up position on the R&B Streaming Songs chart.
Beyoncé Has Charted Dozens of Top 10 Hits on the Streaming Roster
The singer has collected 52 career appearances on the R&B Streaming Songs ranking. 32 of those tracks, a sum that now includes “Morning Dew (Donk),” have reached the top 10. More than 60% of all her placements have broken into the highest tier.
Beyoncé Has Scored Five No. 1s
Beyoncé has conquered the R&B Streaming Songs chart five times. “Break My Soul,” “Get Me Bodied” and “Delresto (Echoes),” her collaboration with Travis Scott, each spent one frame in charge. “7/11” remains her longest-running leader, with 11 weeks at No. 1. “Drunk in Love,” a collaboration with her husband Jay-Z, follows closely behind with a milestone 10 turns atop the tally.
Michael Jackson Blocks Beyoncé From the Top Spot
Beyoncé is prevented from debuting her cut at the summit by Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.” The classic is steady at No. 1 on the R&B Streaming Songs chart, and the generation-defining smash reaches a milestone 10 frames in charge this period.

“Billie Jean” is Jackson’s only composition to earn double-digit weeks atop the ranking. It has now spent twice as long at No. 1 as his second-longest-running ruler, “Thriller,” which managed five periods on the throne.
Jackson has collected three champions on the streaming-only tally. In addition to “Billie Jean” and “Thriller,” he also ruled with “Don’t Matter to Me,” his posthumous collaboration with Drake, but only once. “Billie Jean” only climbed to the R&B Streaming Songs chart’s summit a few weeks ago, in May, following the release of the Michael biopic.
“Morning Dew (Donk)” Debuts Inside the Top 10
The R&B Streaming Songs chart is one of five rankings where “Morning Dew (Donk)” launches inside the top 10. The track also begins its time within that important region on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, Hot R&B Songs, Digital Song Sales, and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, opening at Nos. 3, 4, 6 and 7, respectively.
Beyoncé Launches Within the Top 40 on Two More Charts
“Morning Dew (Donk)” also enters the top 40 on two of Billboard’s busiest all-genre songs rankings. The track launches at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of more than 100 career smashes on the company’s flagship singles tally.
The decades-old recording performs even better when looking only at streams. “Morning Dew (Donk)” debuts at No. 17 on the Streaming Songs chart.
