FC Barcelona is now willing to let Ferran Torres join Paris Saint-Germain this summer according to MARCA, which cited anonymous sources.

The Spanish newspaper writes that the Catalans are waiting for an offer to arrive from the Qatar-backed outfit in order to study it. Nothing has come through so far, though Barça is aware of an unofficial approach from PSG for the scorer of Spain’s winning goal at the 2026 World Cup.

With Robert Lewandowski now gone, and indeed scoring a brace on Saturday during a 2-1 comeback win for the Chicago Fire in his MLS debut, Barça ideally needs Ferran to stay from a sporting perspective.

Failed pursuits for Julian Alvarez and Junior Kroupi leave them understaffed up front. However if the 26-year-old wants to leave, Barça will not close the Spotify Camp Nou exit door to him.

Any offer must fall in line with what Ferran’s market value is. Barça paid $63 million (€55 milion) for him in 2021 from Manchester City, and that’s also the fee that expert German site Transfermarkt says he’s worth.

Next week, Barça is confident that there’ll be developments in the saga in the way of concrete proposals from PSG plus news from Ferran on what he wishes to do.

Has Ferran already decided to leave FC Barcelona for PSG?

Footmercato say he’s been “convinced” by former Spain boss Luis Enrique to join him at the Parc des Princes while MARCA explains that Ferran feels unappreciated by his current club.

Ferran’s currently still on holiday recharging his batteries with Marcos Llorente following Spain’s World Cup triumph, and will soon need to make a decision.

With his terms expiring on June 30, 2027, Barça needs to renew Ferran post-haste. PSG have reportedly warned him that they can improve any offer from the Blaugrana, who can only table a package in September owing to Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues.

Before then, we’ll know whether he’s decided to remain an FC Barcelona squad player – in what could prove to be his most important season in terms of minutes – or join the back-to-back Champions League winners in the French capital. Any exit could prove costly to Hansi Flick, who would only have Dani Olmo as a false ‘9’ or Egyptian rookie Hamza Abdelkarim on the books if a replacement isn’t delivered.
