An Update On ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2, Plus Its Release Date

It has taken just over four years for The Terminal List to return to Amazon, an incredible amount of time even in the current streaming era. There are many factors here, ranging from Hollywood strikes to international filming to also doing a prequel to, perhaps mainly, A-lister Chris Pratt’s exceptionally busy schedule. Pratt has been in at least six movies since 2022, ranging from blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to Super Mario Bros.

Now, The Terminal List is back and has a release date of October 21, just over two months from now. Surprisingly, despite the popularity of season 1, it will drop all eight episodes at once as a binge release, a rarity for its home, Amazon Prime Video.

We have a slew of new images that Amazon has released for The Terminal List season 2, including a haggard-looking Pratt, actors Constance Wu, Luke Hemsworth, Dar Salim, Tom Hopper and Gabriel Luna. Luna and Hemsworth are new additions for The Terminal List season 2. It also has a synopsis:

“This season comes from Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer, where he puts “James Reece” on a journey of violent redemption, finding a new purpose after finishing his list. The psychological revenge thriller of Season One opens up into a globe-trotting espionage thriller taking Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Joined by returning fan favorites like “Raife Hastings” (Tom Hopper), “Katie Buranek” (Constance Wu), “Mohammed Farooq” (Dar Salim), “Jules Landry” (Luke Hemsworth) and newcomers like “Freddy Strain” (Gabriel Luna), Reece will uncover a conspiracy that reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties into his own family’s history.”

Because it was clear pretty quickly that The Terminal List would take a long time to return, a spinoff, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, was greenlit and aired in 2025, featuring a (spoilers) currently dead Ben Edwards in a prequel starring Taylor Kitsch. That also did well, actually reviewing quite a bit better than The Terminal List with critics, and it will also return for season 2. It also seems likely that The Terminal List will not only continue, but return at a more regular cadence. It’s a role Pratt has said he really loves (tough guy free of snarky comedy), and he’s done with Guardians movies and Mario movies, at least for a while.

Amazon seems to be cultivating The Terminal List as a universe project where others like Citadel have failed. So far, it’s off to a good start.
