The Hunting Wives, originally a Starz production, proved to be a huge hit on Netflix when it came to the service. 1.6 billion minutes watched, hitting #1 in the US, and staying five weeks on the Netflix top 10 list. That obviously came with a season 2 renewal, and now Netflix has unveiled a somewhat close 2026 release date, along with a number of new photos.

The Hunting Wives season 2 release date is November 26, 2026, with returning stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow. This time around, Netflix has fully acquired The Hunting Wives and has now made it a global Netflix original series, a welcome addition to its arsenal.

One thing that stands out about the season 2 release date for The Hunting Wives is that season 1 aired in July of 2025. November 2026 will be a year and five months after season 1, which is on the low side for how long it takes to release new streaming seasons these days. Not quite an annual production, but close enough to be less annoying than when we see this elsewhere, and it’s especially rare on Netflix.

With this season 2 news, we also know that season 3 is already in development, being written without an official greenlight from Netflix yet. But if season 2 puts up numbers anywhere close to the first season, that may be an easy pickup. However, Netflix and other big streamers have suffered from large second-season drops for shows that were even quite popular before, often due to these long wait times. The Hunting Wives’ gap is shorter than most, so we’ll see if that helps it. The show was well-liked by critics with an 81% Rotten Tomatoes score, so if season 2 is as good or better, that could spread word-of-mouth and help out. It’s not clear the full breadth of competition it will have around that November 26 release date, but it should be one of the higher-profile productions that month.

Here’s the synopsis for season 2:

“At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

Season 1 ends on a dramatic note, obviously wanting to be picked up for more, and that’s exactly what happened. Below are a few more photos released by Netflix today that show aspects of the new season without giving much away.

It’s still a three-month wait, but that’s better than it could be, and we’ll see how season 2 of The Hunting Wives goes then.
