We’ve hit the stretch run in fantasy baseball as the calendar prepares to flip to September. Making the right moves now can be the difference between winning a championship and finishing in second place. As we head into Week 24, here are five players to consider adding who are still available in the majority of Yahoo leagues.
Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Targets For Week 24
Mickey Moniak, OF, Colorado Rockies (33% rostered)
Moniak has significant home and road splits. On the road, he is batting only .203 with four home runs. At home, he has hit .294 and launched 17 home runs. Those splits are worth noting because the Rockies will play all six of their games next week at Coors Field. Making Moniak even more appealing for fantasy managers is that he will play three games each against the Cardinals and Orioles, who rank 20th and 22nd in baseball in WHIP.
Grant Taylor, RP, Chicago White Sox (33% rostered)
What does Taylor need to do to be rostered in more leagues? Over his last four appearances, he has posted two saves and two wins. Across his last 18 outings, he has allowed one earned run and posted a 0.93 WHIP to go along with 25 strikeouts over 23 2/3 innings. The White Sox have a winning record and are in a battle with the Guardians to win the AL Central, so Taylor should be heavily involved down the stretch. Add him now if your squad needs saves.
Spencer Jones, OF, New York Yankees (31% rostered)
Cody Bellinger is back for the Yankees, but Jones has not lost playing time since his return. The Yankees have instead benched Heliot Ramos, who has hit just .111 with a .226 OBP since being acquired at the trade deadline. He has been outplayed by Jones, who is 14-for-50 (.280) with two home runs and four stolen bases over his last 14 games. Aaron Judge (ribs) could be out for at least another week or two, so Jones still has a clear path to playing time.
Tristan Peters, OF, Chicago White Sox (28% rostered)
Peters has hit a home run in five straight games. He is quietly having a productive season, batting .282 with a .357 wOBA. He only has an 18.0% strikeout rate and has even chipped in seven steals. At Triple-A last year, he had a .353 wOBA to go along with 15 home runs and 11 steals. The White Sox will play seven games next week, four against the Astros and three versus the Twins. Those are favorable matchups for him to stay hot because the Astros are 22nd and the Twins are 20th in xERA.
Joe Musgrove, SP, San Diego Padres (24% rostered)
Musgrove has been out the entire season while recording from Tommy John surgery. He made yet another rehab start Thursday, pushing his pitch count to 60. The Padres are in the thick of the Wild Card hunt, so Musgrove’s next start could be in the majors. Considering his career 3.73 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, he could provide fantasy managers with a few valuable starts down the stretch.

Jones, Moniak, and Peters are three outfielders to consider adding off the waiver wire heading into Week 24. Taylor should be added for saves, and Musgrove’s impending return from injury makes him worth rostering.
