The jury is continuing to deliberate in the trial of Lindsay Clancy, the former labor and delivery nurse charged with murdering her three children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan. Both sides have acknowledged Lindsay was the one who strangled her young children in the basement of her Duxbury, Massachusetts, home on the evening of Jan. 24, 2023. The jury must now decide if she is criminally responsible for their deaths. Postpartum psychosis has been at the heart of the trial. Her defense team argued that she was overmedicated, misdiagnosed, and suffering from the illness the night she strangled her children. The prosecution claimed she was not in a state of psychosis that night, but instead made the deliberate choice to kill her children because she was depressed, and her living children “were keeping her from ending her misery.” Shari Karney, an attorney and victims’ rights advocate, joins “Forbes True Crime” to discuss the trial.
