Doomsday’ Cast List Is Ridiculously Long

Marvel made a big deal out of rolling out a number of chairs in a weird video that revealed the cast of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, indicating which heroes would or would not appear in that film.

Now, a second list is being reported ahead of rumors that more cast members will be revealed soon. It’s from supposed insider Jeff Sneider and it’s just…utterly ridiculous.

To start, we can remind ourselves of the officially revealed list from Marvel, which is mainly straggling Avengers, Thunderbolts and FOX X-Men:

  1. Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
  2. Anthony Mackie (Captain America)
  3. Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm)
  4. Paul Rudd (Ant-Man)
  5. Florence Pugh (Yelena)
  6. Tenoch Huerta (Namor)
  7. Simu Liu (Shang-Chi)
  8. Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes)
  9. Letitia Wright (Black Panther)
  10. Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Thing)
  11. Kelsey Grammer (Beast).
  12. Lewis Pullman (Sentry)
  13. Danny Ramirez (Joaquín Torres / Falcon)
  14. Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm)
  15. David Harbour (Red Guardian)
  16. Winston Duke (M’Baku)
  17. Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost)
  18. Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
  19. Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X)
  20. Ian McKellen (Magneto)
  21. Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler)
  22. Rebecca Romijn (Mystique)
  23. James Marsden (Cyclops)
  24. Channing Tatum (Gambit)
  25. Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom)

It’s an Avengers movie, so it’s obviously a huge cast, 25 characters in all. Obviously it stands to reason that they are hiding a few guest appearances or perhaps some wholly new characters, but still, giant list.

The idea that the Doomsday list could get even bigger to a significant degree, the way this second list suggests, makes no sense. Ready for this second list? Well, it features pretty much every single character that still exists in the MCU minus those others:
