Rosé’s Recent Collaboration Helps Her Make History

Since Rosé stopped intensely promoting her debut solo album Rosie and its several singles, the K-pop favorite has not been resting on the success of her recent chapter. Rosé joined the F1 soundtrack with “Messy” and more recently collaborated with rising star Alex Warren on his single “On My Mind.” That tune enjoyed a short stay on a handful of Billboard’s most important rankings, but for more than a month now it has been climbing steadily on the Pop Airplay tally. As “On My Mind” lifts once more, Rosé advances again on an important all-time roster and even breaks a tie with herself.

Rosé Scores One of the Four Biggest K-Pop Hits

Rosé and Warren send “On My Mind” into the top 20 on the Pop Airplay chart for the first time. The single, which is featured on Warren’s debut album You’ll Be Alright, Kid, jumps from No. 23 to No. 19, hitting a new high point as it ascends.

Now that “On My Mind” has reached its new peak position, it passes several other tracks by K-pop solo female stars and stands as the fourth highest-rising hit by any musician fitting that description in the history of the Pop Airplay tally.

Rosé Passes KPop Demon Hunters and Lisa

Thanks to its four-spot climb, “On My Mind” passes three tunes to enter this coveted space, as “Golden” by Huntr/x and Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, Blackpink star Lisa’s “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” and even Rosé’s own “Toxic Till the End” have thus far climbed as high as Nos. 20, 21, and 23, respectively.

Rosé Claims the Only K-Pop No. 1

The only No. 1 in the history of the Pop Airplay ranking by a K-pop star remains “Apt.,” another Rosé tune. Her collaboration with Bruno Mars is no longer present on the Pop Airplay list, but it does hold on inside the top 40 on the all-style Radio Songs roster at the moment.

Two other singers in Blackpink, Jennie and Lisa, are tied for the second-highest-peaking win, as they both reached No. 18. Jennie did so as a featured artist on The Weeknd’s “One of the Girls” alongside Lily-Rose Depp, while Lisa recently joined Maroon 5 on “Priceless,” the lead single from the pop band’s new album, which also made it all the way to No. 18.

“On My Mind” Could Continue to Climb

Warren is still heavily promoting his album and several singles from the set, including “On My Mind.” When Billboard refreshes its rankings, the duet could climb again, and if their cut lifts just one space, it will match the second highest-rising track by any solo female K-pop star. If it can grow by two or more spaces, the ranking will change dramatically.
