$20 million is up for grabs this week as the PGA Tour heads to Dublin, Ohio for another signature event. The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club will host one of the strongest fields in golf again this year as players try to win Jack Nicklaus’ tournament to kick off the summer portion of the PGA Tour schedule.
Scottie Scheffler will attempt to defend his title this week, as the world number one looks to get into form with the U.S. Open coming up in two-weeks, where he will look to complete the Grand Slam. Scheffler has 7 top 5 finishes in eleven starts this season, but hasn’t had a victory since January. Muirfield Village should accentuate his skills and unsurprisingly, Scheffler will probably be in the mix on Sunday.
With the PGA Tour’s new emphasis on signature events in the past few years, the winner of the Memorial Tournament will take home a hefty check for $4,000,000. The event will be the penultimate signature event, so there will be only one non-major winners check left this season to equal its value.
