Polish football legend Jan Tomaszewski has attacked FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick and his ‘half-hearted’ players amid stating that the German should be fired if he doesn’t deliver the Champions League trophy this season.

Tomaszewski was reacting to Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Slavia Prague on Wednesday, where in freezing conditions Barca went 1-0 down ahead of mounting a comeback yet also losing midfielder Pedri for a month.

Tomaszewski said that the Blaugrana’s stars were “simply outclassed”, with Flick “appearing to be brave after a bad game like the one he played in Prague”.

The Pole stated a belief that “unfortunately, the players are only playing at 40-50% of their potential”.

“Remember, nine players were injured, but not in a direct action, they simply could not continue in the team for personal physical reasons,” Tomaszewski commented.

Flick must win the Champions League to stay at FC Barcelona

Despite scooping a domestic treble in his first season, and reaching the semifinals of the competition where his men fell to Inter Milan, “Flick has to win the Champions League” to stay at Barca, says Tomaszewski.

“If he doesn’t win, he should be kicked out because he just doesn’t fit into this team. He has turned them into half-hearted players and Barca have a great team,” the former goalkeeper went on.

FC Barcelona has to handle Robert Lewandowski well

Probably in his last few months in Catalonia, with the club reportedly having already decided his replacement, Robert Lewandowksi must be handled carefully according to Tomaszewski.

“He’s a goal-scoring machine, but you have to use him skillfully. Robert will not be a key player. He will be the ace that will come in when this great team needs to score the winning goal.

“And Robert is perfect for that, because he was simply born for it. As long as he has the strength, whether he goes to another team or stays at Barcelona, he will fulfill the role of the wild card. He always shows that he gives everything when the opponent is tired.” his compatriot concluded.

With Lewandowski having options to start, FC Barcelona returns to action on Sunday against Real Oviedo in La Liga.
