Huntr/x earns a historic win as “Golden,” from KPop Demon Hunters, hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay chart, becoming the first K-pop song to do so. A little more than half a year after it first reached some of Billboard’s most competitive charts, “Golden,” the behemoth single taken from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, continues to climb on a handful of rosters, though not all.
“Golden,” which is currently nominated for several Grammys and which recently earned a spot in the Best Original Song vertical at the Academy Awards, is on the decline on most rankings in America, though that is not the case on two of the three pop radio tallies. On both the Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts, “Golden” reaches new high points, and the cut makes history on one by breaking out of an important tie.
“Golden” Hits No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay Chart
On the current version of the Adult Pop Airplay chart, which ranks the tracks that rack up the greatest number of total audience impressions via radio stations throughout the United States that focus on a more mature style of pop music, “Golden” steps up one space. The single, credited to the fictional girl group Huntr/x, as well as singers Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, lifts from the runner-up position to No. 1. 25 weeks into its tenure on the tally, “Golden” dominates, earning all involved their first leaders.
“Golden” Beats Rosé and Bruno Mars’s Record
As of this frame, “Golden” is now the first K-pop song – any track attached to that genre – to reach No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. Last frame, “Golden” was on the same level as “Apt.,” the collaboration between Blackpink superstar Rosé and Bruno Mars. That tune, which debuted back in the fall of 2024, lived on the list for 32 frames – months longer than any other cut – and peaked in the runner-up space. That position held as an all-time high for K-pop music until now.
“Golden” Reaches a New Peak on the Adult Contemporary Chart
“Golden” also manages to step up to a newly-set best placement on the Adult Contemporary chart. That list, the slowest-moving of the three pop radio rosters, has never before seen any K-pop single crack the top 10. Last frame, “Golden” sat at No. 10, and now it improves, marking the musical style’s best showing yet.
“Golden” Slides Back Across Several Billboard Charts
Looking elsewhere, “Golden” almost uniformly falls across nearly every other Billboard chart where it takes up space. The tune lives inside the top 10, but dips from where it sat only a few days ago, on the Hot 100 and the Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales, and Pop Airplay charts. “Golden” is comfortable at No. 3 on the Radio Songs list, as well as both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. “Golden” has already ruled all seven of those tallies in the past.
“How It’s Done” Continues Its Pop Airplay Chart Ascent
Just as “Golden” continues to hit new peaks on multiple pop radio charts, the second single pushed from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, “How It’s Done,” is beginning what might be a lengthy and impressive ascent on the Pop Airplay list. Last frame, “How It’s Done” – another tune credited to Huntr/x, Ejae, Nuna, and Ami – opened in last place, at No. 40, on the most competitive of the three pop airplay rankings. This frame, it pushes north three spots to No. 37.
“How It’s Done” Holds on the Dance Charts
Like “Golden,” “How It’s Done” manages to appear within the top 10 on multiple Billboard charts. The track declines from No. 1 on both the Hot Dance/Pop Songs and Dance Streaming Songs tallies, while holding in eighth place on the Dance Digital Song Sales list.
Half a Dozen KPop Demon Hunters Songs Live on the Global Lists
Looking worldwide, half a dozen tracks from the KPop Demon Hunters universe continue to find space on at least one list published by Billboard. Most of them occupy positions on the Billboard Global 200, with “Golden” and “How It’s Done” joining “What It Sounds Like,” “Soda Pop,” and “Your Idol.” Only one Huntr/x cut fails to appear on either worldwide roster, although the collaboration “Takedown” does hold on inside the top 10 on three dance-specific lists in the United States.
