Paris Saint-Germain Targets FC Barcelona Forward

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing an approach for FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres if Bradley Barcola leaves them this summer, according to Sky Sports journalist Luca Bendoni and SPORT, citing anonymous sources.

Barcola still has two years left on his contract at the Parc des Princes. So far, though, talks for an extension between the Frenchman and his Qatari employers are described as being “completely stalled”.

Football agent Moussa Sissoko is infamous to Barça fans for the way he engineered Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele’s exit out of the club in 2024. He also represents Barcola.

There was a meeting last week between PSG sports advisor Luis Campos and Sissoko to evaluate Barcola’s situation. Behind closed doors, President Nasser al-Khelaifi, Campos and head coach Luis Enrique had always supported Barcola while maintaining that they wanted to keep him.

However with Barcola and his representative dragging their feet, the decision makers in the French capital are no longer ruling out Barcola’s potential sale in the summer transfer window.

FC Barcelona forward Ferran is a target for FC Barcelona

Working under Luis Enrique in the Spain national team before, and even dating his daughter for a while if we want to get personal, Ferran is high up on PSG’s list of possible replacements for Barcola.

According to SPORT, however, Ferran is an “untouchable” at the Spotify Camp Nou. At the moment, Barça is currently trying to renew the Valencian too, with his current terms expiring a year earlier that Barcola’s on June 30, 2027.

Unlike Barcola, however, Ferran will not hesitate to agree fresh terms with a club he has always shown an unwavering commitment to succeed at.

At a time when it is struggling to land Julian Alvarez, Barça would also be foolish to let Ferran go.

The Catalans have reportedly bid $116 million (€100 million) for the Argentine after he agreed to a five-year deal. Yet that offer will have to be raised after Real Madrid tabled $175 million (€150 million) for him midweek.

With Robert Lewandowski leaving on June 30 when his contract expires, FC Barcelona is essentially left short-staffed when it comes to the number 9 role. In 2025/2026 as the Blaugrana won a La Liga and Spanish Super Cup double, Ferran gradually phased Lewandowski out of Hansi Flick’s starting XI with 21 goals and three assists in all competitions.
