After an absence of a month, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is back on top of the Billboard Hot 100, as the singer-songwriter’s breakout smash is once again the biggest track in America. The Billboard Hot 100 is published each week and ranks the 100 most popular songs using sales, streaming and airplay data, and “Choosin’ Texas,” already one of the biggest successes of 2026, continues to perform extremely well across all three metrics.

As “Choosin’ Texas” finds its way back to the Billboard Hot 100’s throne, the song makes history and manages a feat no other smash has accomplished before.

Ella Langley Returns to No. 1 With “Choosin’ Texas”

“Choosin’ Texas” has now spent 11 weeks ruling the Billboard Hot 100. Those frames are spread out across six distinct runs at the top of the tally. Billboard notes that “Choosin’ Texas” is the first song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 half a dozen times with at least one frame in any position other than No. 1 separating those streaks.

“Choosin’ Texas” Keeps Coming Back

“Choosin’ Texas” became Langley’s first leader on the Billboard Hot 100 on the chart dated February 14. At the time, it replaced “Aperture” by Harry Styles, which fronted his then-upcoming album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. “Aperture” debuted at the summit, but only spent one frame ruling before “Choosin’ Texas” took over.

Langley then stepped aside, making way for another two smashes to rule before “Choosin’ Texas” doubled its time spent at No. 1. That run was another one-week stint, and just days later, “Choosin’ Texas” rebounded and spent two frames dominating.

After BTS scored another historic champion, “Choosin’ Texas” racked up three more weeks in first place on the Billboard Hot 100. It quickly stepped aside for another immediate No. 1 debut, then added another trio of turns in the spotlight to its impressive total.

Just when it looked like “Choosin’ Texas” would not be able to return to the highest space after Drake, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift all launched new singles at No. 1, Langley surges, and Americans once again show just how much they love the catchy country cut.

Ella Langley Passes Harry Styles

Billboard notes that before this week, two tracks were tied for the most separate runs at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Harry Styles saw “As It Was” reach the summit five times and then step away. A year later, Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” became the second smash to do so, and the first country cut.

“Choosin’ Texas” Claims a Specific Honor

This bit of history is focused specifically on songs that are being currently promoted, which have risen to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 multiple times during their initial period of popularity. When Styles’s “As It Was” and Wallen’s “Last Night” managed their then-historic showings, they were the main focus for the artist. Langley is promoting “Be Her” as the second single from her sophomore album Dandelion, but “Choosin’ Texas” is only a few months old at this point.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” claims this specific honor when taking into account songs that were initially promoted years ago. Her holiday smash has become an annual ruler on the Billboard Hot 100, and it finds its way back to the top spot every year toward December, and it typically continues to command the list into early January. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” first conquered the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019 and has added to its total each year since, with eight cumulative leaps into the driver’s seat.
