Last year, Selena Gomez and her now-husband Benny Blanco teamed up for the collaborative album I Said I Love You First. The project marked a new high point on a number of Billboard charts for Blanco as an artist, but it was a rare miss on the Billboard 200 for Gomez, who had previously seen her three solo albums all climb to No. 1, as her latest stalled in the runner-up rung.
I Said I Love You First was not the first interaction between Blanco and Gomez, and it would not be the last. This week, the two married superstars score a big hit on a handful of tallies in the United States, and Gomez even manages to place on one list she has never appeared on throughout her musical career.
Selena Gomez Reaches a New Billboard Chart
Gomez reaches the Hot Tropical Songs chart for the first time with “Te Olvido (La La),” her collaboration with Blanco and Latin superstar Becky G. The track opens at No. 3 this frame on the ranking that focuses on the most popular tunes classified by Billboard as tropical Latin music. That broad field includes styles like salsa, bachata and merengue, among others.

The trio is blocked by one of the biggest Latin hits in the United States, as well as another debut. Bad Bunny rules the Hot Tropical Songs chart again with “Baile Inolvidable,” which is comfortable at the summit once more. Latin Mafia and Grammy-winning electronic dance producer Fred again.. launch their collaboration “Te Estoy Correteando” at No. 2, just one space ahead of Gomez, Blanco and Becky G.
Selena Gomez Nearly Scores Another No. 1
Gomez and company come even closer to ruling another related roster. “Te Olvido (La La)” debuts at No. 2 on the Hot Latin Pop Songs chart, which narrows the field to Latin tracks classified specifically as pop rather than tropical music. Once again, “Te Estoy Correteando” stands in the way. Latin Mafia and Fred again.. Launch their cut at No. 1, keeping Gomez, Blanco and Becky G from running the show.
Blanco and Gomez have already conquered the Hot Latin Pop Songs ranking before, which likely softens the blow of debuting in second place. “Ojos Tristes,” their collaboration with The Marías, debuted at No. 1 and spent 17 of its 25 frames on the roster in first place.
Selena Gomez Debuts on the Hot Latin Songs Chart
“Te Olvido (La La)” only misses the top 10 on one of the three Latin rankings where it debuts. The single opens at No. 14 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, the most competitive of the Latin-focused tallies in the country. All three artists have previously broken into the highest tier on that roster, in some cases with multiple tunes.
Selena Gomez Brings Back an Older Global Hit
Gomez’s only other charting track on any Billboard-sanctioned tally this week is “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” her collaboration with Charlie Puth. The years-old pop smash returns to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 186. “We Don’t Talk Anymore” earns its milestone thirtieth week on the worldwide ranking, which excludes all forms of consumption originating from the United States.
