Like so many K-pop groups, it took Ateez a little while to catch on in the United States. The boy band first began releasing projects back in 2018, but it wasn’t until a few years later that the act made a huge impact on the Billboard charts in America. These days, Ateez ranks as one of the most commercially successful names in K-pop in the country. The troupe regularly debuts new projects within the top 10 on some of the most important albums charts, and sometimes even manages to hit No. 1.
That’s the case again this week, as the outfit’s latest EP, Golden Hour: Part.5, stands out as not only the biggest release in the nation, but the bestselling – by a huge margin. Golden Hour: Part.5 launches on four Billboard charts this week, and it rules all but one. The set only fails to conquer the Vinyl Albums list, where it begins its time in third place. Ateez is once again in charge of the Billboard 200, as well as both the World Albums and Top Album Sales charts, and it is on the latter ranking where the group faced no real competition.
Golden Hour: Part.5 Sells More Than 200,000 Copies
Luminate reports that in its first week of availability, Golden Hour: Part.5 sold just under 223,000 copies in America alone. That figure comprises purchases via digital download, as well as on CD and vinyl. K-pop groups are well known for being able to rack up massive sales sums when they drop new music, especially on physical formats, which are highly collectible among die-hard fans of the genre.

On this week’s Top Album Sales chart, which ranks the bestselling releases in the country, Olivia Rodrigo drops from No. 1 to No. 2. The singer-songwriter’s Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love slips to second place, selling another 26,000 copies. Ateez outpaced the Grammy winner more than eight and a half times over.
Ateez Outsells the Next 30 Albums Combined
Golden Hour: Part.5 sold so spectacularly well as it arrived in America that Ateez outperformed the next 30 projects highest-ranking projects on the Top Album Sales chart combined. That roundup includes debuts from musical acts like Muse, The Pretty Reckless and Cody Johnson, as well as fellow K-pop favorites Cortis, BTS, ZeroBaseOne, Le Sserafim and Stray Kids.
Ateez Scores Its Seventh No. 1 on the Sales Chart
Ateez has now sent 14 titles to the Top Album Sales chart. Exactly half of those have reached No. 1, and a milestone 10 releases have cracked the top 10. So far, none of Ateez’s releases have spent more than one week running the show.

Golden Hour: Part.5 Rules Three Billboard Charts
Golden Hour: Part.5 earns Ateez a third No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the most important albums chart in America, and a ninth top 10. That stands as one of the most impressive accumulations among K-pop groups.
On the World Albums tally, which is usually populated by the biggest and popular names in K-pop, Golden Hour: Part.5 becomes the eleventh No. 1 for the singers. All 19 projects Ateez has sent to the World Albums list have reached the top 10.
