Australian Government and Israel Lobby Accused of Escalating Interference to Silence Free Speech Summit on the Gold Coast

Gold Coast, Australia – July 18, 2025 – The Free Speech Summit, hosted by independent media platform Australian National Review and its founder, Jamie McIntyre, has faced unprecedented levels of censorship and government-sanctioned obstruction ahead of its planned event on July 19th and 20th on the Gold Coast.

What began as pressure from pro-Israel activists to cancel the venue booking at the Star Casino has now reportedly escalated into something far more concerning – direct interference by the Australian government in collaboration with foreign interests, resulting in banned speakers, surveillance, harassment, and even alleged detainment of event personnel.

From Venue Cancellation to Visa Bans

Initially, the event was set to host over 20 speakers from around the globe at the Star Casino’s 2,000-seat theatre. That was until the venue was abruptly cancelled following pressure from Israel lobby groups demanding the summit be stopped. According to organisers, this was the first in a series of calculated moves to shut down the summit.

In the days leading up to the event, several American speakers had their visas revoked or entry banned altogether – some based merely on social media posts or political commentary deemed “controversial.” These last-minute bans have raised alarm bells over the level of influence foreign lobbying groups may have on Australian immigration decisions.

Surveillance, Interrogation, & Intimidation at the Border

But things took a disturbing turn today.

One of the staff members flying in from abroad to assist with the Free Speech Summit, landed at an Australian airport, only to be pulled aside by Australian authorities. He was reportedly interrogated for over three hours, had his phone and personal assets confiscated, and was subjected to invasive questioning and harassment.

Authorities claimed they were already monitoring him prior to his arrival – implying a level of pre-emptive surveillance normally reserved for high-risk criminal investigations. This has led to speculation about how closely Australian intelligence or law enforcement are working in tandem with foreign governments to suppress dissent.

Worse still, the founder of Australian National Review, Jamie McIntyre, has been advised to not enter Australia at all, as the Australian Government may try and arrest him under their new anti semitism laws, due to social media posts where he has criticised the Israel regime for blowing up innocent children with US Precision weapons on a daily basis . Sources close to the event report that he is being treated as a “security risk” – an ironic label given he is a well-known Australian entrepreneur and publisher advocating for free speech.

Who Is Really Calling the Shots?

The question now being asked by many is this: Why is the Australian allowing a foreign government – in this case, Israel – to influence internal decisions to the point of banning citizens, cancelling events, & allegedly spying on & harassing Australian media personnel?

The Free Speech Summit is being livestreamed to millions around the globe via the Australian National Review’s online platforms. It was designed to be a peaceful, open forum to discuss censorship, media corruption, political interference, and human rights abuses.
Organisers are pressing on with the event at a new undisclosed venue near Broadbeach, which will only be revealed shortly before the summit begins to avoid further sabotage.

A Chilling Precedent for Democracy in Australia

This situation has ignited serious concerns about the state of freedom of expression and sovereignty in Australia. When political activism and speech can be criminalised, and when foreign actors can seemingly dictate who is allowed to speak or even attend peaceful public forums, one must ask – is Australia still a free and independent nation.
