Benson Boone’s sophomore album American Heart only recently turned one year old, but the pop singer-songwriter is already on to what’s next. A few days ago, Boone kicked off his Wanted Man Tour, just months after finishing the American Heart World Tour. The singer also dropped “The Time of My Life” in late June, which appears to be the first single from what may be his third album.
With a new concert trek and song out, it seems that Boone is ready to begin the next era of his career. “The Time of My Life” debuts on multiple Billboard charts this week. In some cases, it becomes one of his highest-rising smashes, while on other tallies, it is one of the Grammy nominee’s worst performers and something of a commercial disappointment.
“The Time of My Life” Almost Hits the Sales Chart’s Top 10
“The Time of My Life” opens highest on the Digital Song Sales chart. The Billboard ranking lists the top-selling tunes of any style via platforms like iTunes, Amazon, and others throughout America. On the roster, “The Time of My Life” starts at No. 12. Luminate reports that the cut sold 2,000 copies in its opening tracking frame.
Benson Boone Scores His Third-Highest-Ranking Sales Smash
As it arrives, “The Time of My Life” becomes Boone’s third-highest-ranking smash on the Digital Song Sales chart, as it only misses becoming his third top 10 by two spaces. “Beautiful Things” spent two weeks at No. 1, while “Mystical Magical” peaked at No. 7.
Previously, “Slow It Down” and “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” were tied as the third-highest-rising tunes in his discography. Both launched at No. 22, spent one week there, and disappeared.
“The Time of My Life” Lands This Week’s Third-Highest Debut
Boone scores the third-highest-ranking debut on the current edition of the Digital Song Sales chart. The loftiest launch, “One Nation” by Steve Gruber and the Freedom Project, enters at No. 6, while “Another Drink,” a collaboration between electronic dance producer Marshmello and country singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini, opens one space lower. Boone beats new arrivals from Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Alan Jackson, Gracie Abrams, Forrest Frank, and Ice Nine Kills.

Benson Boone Reaches Two Pop Radio Rankings
“The Time of My Life” also starts its time within the top 40 on two of the three pop radio rankings published by Billboard each week. It debuts at No. 23 on Pop Airplay and No. 24 on Adult Pop Airplay.
On the Pop Airplay chart, “The Time of My Life” is Boone’s third-lowest-peaking track, beating “Ghost Town” and “In the Stars.” Over on the Adult Pop Airplay roster, which is focused on more mature-leaning pop radio stations in the country, “The Time of My Life” ties “In the Stars” as his worst performer so far, though it is only beginning its run.
“The Time of My Life” Lands on the Billboard Hot 100
Boone returns to the Billboard Hot 100, the list of the most-consumed songs in the nation, as “The Time of My Life” gets off to a No. 60 start. While it does launch within the lower half of the roster, “The Time of My Life” ties “Cry” as the fifth-highest-ranking hit so far in his career. Boone has racked up four top 40 wins already: “Beautiful Things,” “Mystical Magical,” “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” and “Slow It Down,” which climbed to Nos. 2, 17, 19, and 32, respectively.
Benson Boone Scores His Milestone Tenth Career Hit
As “The Time of My Life” debuts, Boone scores his milestone tenth appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. He first appeared on the tally in 2021 with “Ghost Town,” which only spent one week at No. 100. Three of his hits, “Mystical Magical,” “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” and “Mr. Electric Blue,” all launched on the ranking last year.
Here are all of Benson Boone’s career wins on the Billboard Hot 100.

“The Time of My Life” Struggles Around the World
As “The Time of My Life” reaches the Billboard charts, it becomes clear that Boone is an American sensation, more than a worldwide one – at least at this moment. The track only makes it to the Billboard Global 200 at No. 193, one of the lowest rungs possible on the roster that details the 200 most popular tracks all around the planet using both sales and streaming data. The single completely misses the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., tellingly, which is built in the same manner as the Billboard Global 200, except all consumption from American consumers is left out entirely.
