In the United Kingdom, the Official Charts Company caps every musical act at three spots on the Official Singles chart — the all-consumption ranking of the most popular songs in the country — at one time. Following the death of Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath easily hits that limit with three of its most recognizable cuts. All of them climb this frame, and two earn new personal bests as millions mourn his passing.
“War Pigs” and “Iron Man” Reach New Peaks
Both “War Pigs” and “Iron Man” debuted on the Official Singles chart last week, and now they’re moving north. “War Pigs” rises from No. 79 to No. 47, while “Iron Man” pushes from No. 93 to No. 48. Those positions now stand as the highest either track has reached on the main songs tally.
Black Sabbath’s Bestsellers
Pure purchases are largely fueling the ascent of both “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” as the pair also finds room on the Official Single Sales chart and Official Singles Downloads rosters across the pond. On those sales-focused lists, “War Pigs” lives inside the top 40, dipping only a few spaces from where it started last frame, while “Iron Man” sits around the middle of the 100-spot rosters.
“Paranoid” Is Black Sabbath’s Top Performer
Black Sabbath’s top performer on the Official Singles chart at the moment is “Paranoid,” which jumps 12 spaces to No. 22. Several versions of the cut have appeared on the list throughout the decades, according to the Official Charts Company.
The one on the tally now can’t match the original’s success, as in the summer of 1970, “Paranoid” debuted and climbed to No. 4. It remains the band’s only top 10 and its longest-charting single, with 18 weeks spent on the tally.
The updated “Paranoid” is also gaining on streaming platforms. On the Official Streaming chart, the cut leaps from No. 67 — where it launched last frame — to No. 26. It also lives on the Official Single Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings at the same time, as it’s the group’s biggest win right now.
Fans Revisit Catalog After Osbourne’s Death
Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, just weeks after Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in Birmingham, England. The band’s updated presence on the charts in the U.K. reflect an outpouring of support from fans revisiting the catalog. Impressively, the group’s fates on the weekly lists have continued to improve, instead of peaking the frame following the singer’s passing.
