Bob Marley Proves His Undying Popularity As One Of His Albums Returns

Bob Marley remains the king of Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart and likely always will be. The compilation Legend, which also credits his backing band the Wailers, isn’t just the longest-running No. 1 title of all time on that tally, it is one of only a handful of efforts to ever lead the ranking. That set, which is also one of the bestselling releases of any style in America, has only missed running the show on the reggae-specific list once out of the 285 weeks it has spent on the tally.

Marley sometimes claims multiple spots on the short roster, as he’s the most successful reggae musician in history. This frame, he manages not only to bring one beloved collection back, but also to tie for the most winning albums on the tally.

Legend Continues to Rule

As Legend earns its two-hundred-and-eighty-fourth stay at No. 1 on the Reggae Albums chart, Marley reenters the roster in last place, at No. 10. Joined again by the Wailers, Rastaman Vibration returns at No. 10. That project previously peaked at No. 4, and if it can hold on for one more frame, it will reach its first half-year on the list.

Bob Marley’s Three Top 10 Albums

Marley fills a trio of spaces on the 10-spot Reggae Albums tally, and even manages back-to-back wins. Exodus, a third project with the Wailers, holds at No. 9. That title once soared to No. 3, and just like Rastaman Vibration, if it remains where it is for another week, it will reach a special milestone. Exodus is currently up to 99 stays on the Reggae Albums chart as of this period.

Bob Marley Joins Stick Figure

Despite the fact that the Reggae Albums tally only features 10 spots, Marley isn’t the sole musical act to fill a trio of positions. Stick Figure sits at Nos. 3, 6, and 8 with World on Fire, Wisdom, and Set in Stone, respectively.

Sean Paul also manages a pair of favorites, as his Dutty Classics Collection slips from the runner-up space to No. 4, while the similarly-named Dutty Rock dips one spot to No. 7 this time around.
