Bruce Springsteen Blocked From A New No. 1 Album

Bruce Springsteen’s music can be classified under many different genres, and it’s true that throughout his decades-long career, he has released work that critics and even the singer-songwriter himself have labeled using different descriptors. In the United Kingdom, the celebrated rocker often finds himself on the Official Americana chart, though in the United States, he is more often present on rock rankings.

Springsteen is one of dozens of musicians who took part in Record Store Day, a music industry initiative where popular acts release special projects that are, at least initially, only available in brick-and-mortar stores. The superstar’s Live from Asbury Park 2024 debuts on several tallies in the U.K. after selling well throughout that country, and the beloved musician nearly scores another No. 1, but misses out by just one rung.

Bruce Springsteen’s Live from Asbury Park 2024 Debuts at No. 2

Live from Asbury Park 2024, which is credited to Springsteen and the E Street Band, debuts at No. 2 on the Official Americana chart. That’s the only one of the four tallies where the set launches where it begins its time inside the top 10.

Bruce Springsteen’s One Album to Miss the Top 10

Springsteen collects his eighth top 10 on the list. Almost all of his projects that have appeared on the genre-specific roster – all but one in fact – have peaked not only within the top 10, but inside the top two. Last year, an EP titled Land of Hope and Dreams stalled at No. 12, becoming his first set to fail to crack the uppermost region.

Nebraska ’82 Is Counted Among His Chart-Toppers

Only two of Springsteen’s nine full-lengths that have appeared on the Official Americana chart have topped out at No. 2. Live from Asbury Park 2024 joins The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts, which landed on the list in December 2021.

Half a dozen releases by Springsteen have managed to run the show. That roundup includes Western Stars, Letter to You, Only the Strong Survive, the simply titled Best Of compilation, Tracks II: The Lost Albums, and Nebraska ’82. The latter two albums hit the summit in 2025 alone.

Bruce Springsteen Claims Three Americana Winners

Springsteen fills three spots on the Official Americana chart this week, and his highest-ranking two titles sit side by side. As Live from Asbury Park 2024 opens in second place, Best Of holds at No. 3. That compilation might not be running the show at the moment – it has already spent 15 frames atop the roster – but it is in the midst of an exciting period nonetheless. As of this moment, Best Of by Springsteen has spent 104 weeks, exactly two years, on the rundown. At the same time, Nebraska ‘82 lifts slightly from No. 40 to No. 38.

Bruce Springsteen Blocked from No. 1by Zach Bryan

Zach Bryan keeps two of Springsteen’s releases from appearing at No. 1 on the current edition of the Official Americana chart. The American singer-songwriter’s With Heaven on Top is comfortable once again in the penthouse, where it has held for a month now. With Heaven on Top has already spent a total of 15 weeks somewhere on the ranking, and 11 of those runs have been at No. 1. Bryan’s latest project has only fallen as low as No. 3 during its streak.

Live from Asbury Park 2024 Opens on Multiple Charts

In addition to the Official Americana chart, Live from Asbury Park 2024 also debuts on the Official Vinyl Albums (No. 19) and at No. 21 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums tallies.
