BTS’s Latest No. 1 Album Passes One Of The Band’s Biggest Releases

Since its release in late March, Arirang, BTS’s comeback album, has been a massive commercial success all around the world. That’s especially true in nations like the United States and the United Kingdom, where the septet is credited with helping kick off the K-pop wave that seems to only grow larger and larger with each passing year.

Arirang debuted atop the Official Albums chart in the U.K., scoring the Grammy-nominated vocal act another leader. Since then, the project has not vacated the 100-space ranking of the most-consumed EPs and albums in the country. This time around, Arirang grows on the busiest albums roster and returns to several additional tallies after BTS performed multiple nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month. As Arirang earns another stay on the Official Albums chart, it moves up within the boy band’s discography and breaks a longevity tie.

BTS’s Arirang Reaches 15 Weeks on the Albums Chart

Arirang has now spent a landmark 15 weeks somewhere on the Official Albums chart. Amazingly, in all that time, the set has yet to slip beneath the top 40. Arirang nearly fell outside that region only a week ago when it dropped from No. 31 to a new low of No. 39. Now, it’s turned around and improved its standing by two spots, and it currently appears at No. 37.

Arirang Becomes BTS’s Second Longest-Charting Album

With another turn on the tally to its credit, Arirang becomes the second longest-charting project by BTS on the Official Albums roster. It’s only the second to make it to 15 periods on the tally, which is built using both sales and streaming data.

If Arirang can manage another month on the rundown – which seems likely, considering where it sits at the moment and how well it has been performing ever since its release – it could match Map of the Soul: Persona. That win spent 19 weeks somewhere on the list and has held as the group’s longest-charting success for years.

Arirang Passes Map of the Soul: 7

Only a few days ago, Arirang claimed to be BTS’s second longest-running release on the Official Albums chart, but it had to share that honor. Map of the Soul: 7, which first appeared on the roster in the spring of 2020, racked up 14 stays on the 100-space rundown before disappearing.

Arirang Beat Love Yourself: Answer Less Than a Month Ago

The past two frames have been important for Arirang in terms of tying and then breaking matches within BTS’s discography. Two weeks back, when it reached a lucky 13 periods on the chart, Arirang tied Love Yourself: Answer, but then quickly passed that set.

Arirang Returns as a Vinyl Bestseller

Arirang can be found on five lists in the U.K. at the moment. Thanks to the group’s recent concerts, Arirang returns to only one, the Official Vinyl Albums chart, where it becomes a top 40 bestseller again as it blasts back onto the tally at No. 36.

Simultaneously, Arirang finds its way into the top 20 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, making a home at No. 20 on the two similar tallies. Arirang only fails to enter the top 40 on the Official Albums Streaming register, where it improves two slots to No. 45. It’s clear that BTS fans prefer to buy Arirang rather than stream it, though it does live within the upper half of the all-genre Official Albums Streaming chart.
