MIAMI GARDENS, FL – SEPTEMBER 12: Tua Tagovailoa #1 of the Miami Dolphins warms up prior to an NFL … More
Training camp has officially started, and the NFL season is almost here. With more information coming out about some of these players, it’s important to understand their value in dynasty fantasy football.
Now the players on this list will all be targets more for superflex or 2QB leagues. While the last two players could hold value in a 1QB league if they hit big, these players are strong QB2 options.
All three players are valued below QB24 on Keep Trade Cut, making them viable options for any team build. Let’s dive right into the list.
Buy These Quarterbacks in Dynasty Fantasy Football
1. Tua Tagovailoa (KTC Rank: QB25)
There was once a time when Tua Tagovailoa was being valued as a top 12 quarterback on KTC. While Tagovailoa may not get back up to the QB8 range due to his injury history, it’s easier to believe that he will rise closer to QB12 than fall anymore.
At QB25 right now, this seems like rock bottom for Tagovailoa, barring a serious injury, which is impossible to predict. Tagovailoa is a talented player who scored 17.8 PPG in 2022, then threw for 4,624 yards (15.9 PPG) in 2023.
Tyreek Hill is back for another year, De’Von Achane is heading into year three, and Jaylen Waddle is the X factor for this offense. Waddle has been banged up the past few years, but the last time he played in 17 games was in 2022.
Waddle had 75 catches for 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns. If Waddle can get back to that form after failing to go over 1,050 receiving yards since, Tagovailoa will benefit in a big way. Finally, the Miami Dolphins selected Jonah Savaiinaea in round two of the NFL Draft to help protect Tagovailoa.
2. Jalen Milroe (KTC Rank: QB28)
Jalen Milroe isn’t a quarterback you can start this year, but he’s a player who is highly unlikely to ever go much further than this in his career. Right now, Milroe is stuck behind Sam Darnold after being drafted in the 3rd round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Milroe is just a rookie, and I broke down his entire prospect profile in this linked article. The main takeaway from my prospect evaluation of Milroe is that he’s an elite runner.
Not only does the film back this, but his rushing stats are phenomenal. During Milroe’s final year of college, he had 726 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. Keep in mind that sacks count as negative rushing yards in college.
Darnold had a great year, but he was in one of the best situations in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. Darnold had never thrown for more than 3,100 yards in any of his first six seasons, indicating that this success might be unstable.
With how cheap Milroe is, he’s absolutely worth a shot. The upside is that he has a career similar to Justin Fields, where he’s fantasy-relevant solely from his rushing upside. Although Fields is the QB24 now, he peaked as the QB7.
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – OCTOBER 08: Anthony Richardson #5 of the Indianapolis Colts throws a pass … More
3. Anthony Richardson (KTC Rank: QB30)
The last player on our list, Anthony Richardson, is very similar to Milroe. Although Richardson hasn’t shown much as a passer, his rushing upside is through the roof.
Richardson had 18.2 PPG in four games as a rookie and 14.9 PPG last season. Last year, Richardson had 499 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
The downside with Richardson is that he’s battling for the starting spot, he’s failed to stay healthy (15 games in two years), and if he doesn’t take a step up as a passer, his future as a starter could be up in the air.
The case for Richardson is that he was the 4th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, which showcases his upside. Since the Indianapolis Colts are very invested in Richardson, there’s a good chance he’ll get one more year to prove himself.
With Richardson, you’re getting a quarterback that could be a sleeper to finish as a low-end QB1 this year due to his rushing ability. Not only that, but Richardson has the upside to shoot up dynasty fantasy football rankings if he does put things together. Keep in mind that Richardson was the QB6 on KTC back in September of 2024.
