Carlos Alcaraz’s Wrist Is Reportedly ‘Completely Healed’

The tennis world could be getting one of its biggest stars back sooner than later.

Carlos Alcaraz’s injured wrist is “completely healed,” according to a report from La Verdad.

Alcaraz is reportedly targeting a return at the Cincinnati Open (Aug. 13-23), the major hardcourt warm-up to the U.S. Open later this summer.

Alcaraz, 23, has been out since April with a right wrist injury that forced him to miss Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

“Now Carlos Alcaraz, get back here,” John McEnroe said on ESPN after Jannik Sinner defended his Wimbledon title on Sunday.

Added Patrick McEnroe: “We definitely need to get him healthy.”

Alcaraz has been linked to potentially playing Mixed Doubles with Serena Williams at the U.S. Open,

In his absence, Alcaraz has dropped to No. 3 in the world.

Alexander Zverev won his first major at Roland Garros (without having to play Alcaraz or Sinner), while Sinner beat Zverev in the Wimbledon final.

“Now these guys will be 1-2 now when they come out of here,” Patrick McEnroe said.. “…[Sinner] is the best player in the world right now on every surface. The heat stopped him in Paris and now we’ll go into the hardcourt and the summer season and the U.S. Open being the favorite again.”

If Alcaraz returns for the U.S. Open it will certain make things more interesting.

The Spaniard has won seven Grand Slam titles, and completed the career Slam at the Australian Open in January.

He is the defending U.S. Open champion and also won the title in 2022 for his first career Slam.

Alcaraz and Sinner have combined to win 10 of the last 11 majors.
