Fantasy managers in need of a boost to their lineup should have some viable options heading into Week 13. There is also a reliever who could help with saves. Let’s look towards the week ahead and highlight five players to consider adding who are still available in the majority of Yahoo leagues.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Targets For Week 13

Jung Hoo Lee, OF, San Francisco Giants (45% rostered)

Lee doesn’t hit for power and doesn’t have a ton of speed. Last season, he posted eight home runs and 10 stolen bases over 150 games. If he doesn’t hit for a high average, he’s not worth rostering in most leagues. He is doing just that right now, though, posting an 18-game hitting streak. During that span, he is 36-for-72 (.500) with three stolen bases and 17 runs scored. Amazingly, he has struck out a total of three times. His average is up to .338 for the season, so add him now and enjoy his hot streak for as long as you can.

Braden Montgomery, OF, Chicago White Sox (37% rostered)

A first-round pick in the 2024 Draft, Montgomery comes with plenty of pedigree. He reached Triple-A for the first time earlier this season, posting a .410 wOBA and a .180 ISO over 29 games. Last year, he had a .379 wOBA and a .174 ISO across three levels in the minors. He has already performed well enough that the White Sox have called him up to the majors. Across two games since then, he is 4-for-9 with a home run and two doubles. There is enough upside here to make him worth adding in 12-team and deeper leagues.

Dalton Rushing, C, Los Angeles Dodgers (24% rostered)

After missing four straight games, the Dodgers finally placed Will Smith (neck) on the disabled list Thursday. Luckily for them, they have one of the better backup catchers in baseball in Rushing. At just 25 years old, he is already showing signs of breaking out with his .391 wOBA and .259 ISO. Across 91 career games in the majors, he has posted an 11.9% barrel rate. Until Smith returns, Rushing has the potential to be one of the more valuable fantasy options behind the plate.

Alex Lange, RP, Kansas City Royals (24% rostered)

Lucas Erceg was moved into the ninth inning by the Royals when Carlos Estevez (shoulder) went down. However, his 6.29 ERA and 2.01 WHIP resulted in him losing the role. Lange also has a concerning 1.45 WHIP, but he has four saves over his last five appearances. He hasn’t given up a run in nine of his last 10 outings, which certainly helps his cause to receive more save opportunities moving forward.

Paul Goldschmidt, 1B, New York Yankees (14% rostered)

The Yankees are missing Aaron Judge (ribs), Giancarlo Stanton (calf), and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) right now. With their lineup compromised, Goldschmidt has played on a regular basis. He has provided the team with a significant boost, hitting 19-for-55 (.345) with a .390 OBP, three home runs, and 14 RBI across the last 13 games. Dominguez is currently on a rehab assignment, but Judge will be out for weeks. Stanton still doesn’t have a return date yet. At least until Stanton returns, Goldschmidt should be rostered in more leagues.

Takeaway

Lee and Goldschmidt are two hot hitters on the waiver wire who could provide a boost to fantasy managers. Rushing and Montgomery are two young hitters with upside, while Lange can help those in need of saves. Be sure to check back throughout the season as we provide the top waiver wire options to help you win your fantasy baseball league.
