2026 has been a wildly different year when looking at the No. 1 space on Billboard‘s two most competitive country charts, the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay rankings. One name has appeared at the summit more than any other when it comes to both rosters, though: Ella Langley.
The singer-songwriter shot to superstardom thanks to the release of her 2025 single “Choosin’ Texas,” which fronts her recently released sophomore album Dandelion. That tune has proved unbeatable when it comes to one roster, while on the other, many other acts have taken turns running the show. This week, Langley dominates the two rundowns with separate singles, and she manages a first for the year on the Country Airplay chart.
Ella Langley Sends “Be Her” to No. 1
Langley’s “Be Her” tops the Country Airplay chart this week as it climbs from second place to first. As she conquers the list once more, the singer-songwriter becomes the first artist to rack up multiple champions on what some consider to be the most competitive of all radio rosters in America in 2026.
Langley led the way in February when “Choosin’ Texas” reached the summit for the first time. Langley’s breakout smash would only reign for a single frame before stepping aside. Jason Aldean’s “How Far Does a Goodbye Go?” and then Morgan Wallen’s “20 Cigarettes” both ran the show for very short stints. Then “Choosin’ Texas” took over again for another pair of periods.
Including “Be Her,” a dozen tracks have hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart. That collection features songs by names like Blake Shelton, Shaboozey, Cody Johnson, and more.
Ella Langley Could Match Luke Combs in a Few Days
Between “Choosin’ Texas” and “Be Her,” Langley has spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart in 2026. If “Be Her” can keep in that position for another frame, she will match Luke Combs for the most stints ruling so far this year. He managed five moments atop the roster with just one hit, “Sleepless in a Hotel Room.” That smash dominated from mid-April until mid-May, and it was only two weeks ago that it stepped aside.

Ella Langley Scores Her Fourth Career Leader
Langley scores her fourth career No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart, and she makes 2026 her most successful year yet. Alongside Riley Green, Langley made it to the penthouse for the first time in December 2024 when “You Look Like You Love Me” spent one frame in the spotlight.
The following December, another team-up between the two soloists, “Don’t Mind If I Do” – fronted by Green and featuring Langley – similarly stepped up to the peak before turning around. “Choosin’ Texas,” with its three frames at No. 1, has now commanded the Country Airplay chart for as long as Langley’s three other winners combined.
“Choosin’ Texas” Just Keeps Leading
Langley also holds at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, but that is less surprising than her latest hit on the Country Airplay tally. “Choosin’ Texas” is the only ruling cut so far this year on the list of the most-consumed country tracks in the nation. As of this period, “Choosin’ Texas” has spent 27 weeks on top, and it is now tied with “I Hope” by Gabby Barrett as the fourth-longest-running leader of all time.
“Choosin’ Texas” blocks another two singles by Langley from becoming No. 1s on the Hot Country Songs roster. “Be Her” and “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” a collaboration with Wallen, are steady at their all-time highs of Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
