Eminem is one of the most successful hip-hop musicians in U.K. history, even though he does not hail from that nation. Since first reaching the Official Albums chart – which lists the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in that country, regardless of style or how they are consumed, as both sales and streaming activity are part of the ranking’s methodology – Eminem has racked up a lucky 13 appearances. His longest-charting titles are two related compilations, and the second of the pair to be released brings the superstar to a milestone he has only reached once before in his storied career.
Eminem’s Curtain Call 2 Reaches 200 Weeks
Eminem’s Curtain Call 2 drops one spot to No. 93 on the current edition of the Official Albums chart. The set, which followed the original Curtain Call by 17 years, has now appeared on the ranking of the 100 most popular musical projects in the U.K. in 200 distinct chart weeks.
Eminem Has Two 200-Week-Charters
Curtain Call 2 is Eminem’s second LP to make it to 200 frames as one of the 100 most-consumed albums in the U.K. It makes sense that the first edition from that series, officially titled Curtain Call: The Hits, was the first to do so, and it sits in a distant first place within the rapper’s discography. Curtain Call, which also backtracks by one space but sits dozens of slots ahead of its sequel and lands at No. 36, is now up to 726 weeks on the tally, making it one of the longest-charting releases of all time.
Eminem Has Seen Multiple Albums Chart for a Year
Only two other Eminem albums have racked up triple-digit stays on the Official Albums chart. The Slim Shady LP, which brought him to the roster for the first time in 1999, held on for 134 periods. The Eminem Show, which reached the rundown in June 2002, stuck around even longer, making it to 159 periods on the list. Several other collections, including The Marshall Mathers LP (95 weeks), The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (71), Recovery (62) and Kamikaze (55), also charted for at least a year, though none of them made it to 100 frames or more.
Curtain Call 2 Appears on Two U.K. Charts
At the moment, Curtain Call 2 appears on two rankings in the U.K. The compilation steps back from No. 74 to No. 76 on the Official Albums Streaming chart, and it was only a few days ago that the hits-packed project celebrated the same milestone it reaches this time around on the main albums tally.
Curtain Call Remains the More Successful of the Pair
The first Curtain Call is much more successful than Curtain Call 2, as it lives inside the top 40 on three rundowns across the Atlantic. Curtain Call holds at No. 26 on the Official Albums Streaming chart and improves to No. 30 on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums register.
Eminem Scores Two Hip-Hop Album Wins
Eminem fills a pair of spots on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart – just as he does on both the Official Albums and Official Albums Streaming tallies – though he manages the feat with different titles. The Eminem Show declines from No. 12 to No. 14 on the list of the bestselling hip-hop, rap and R&B projects in the U.K. The former No. 1 reached 700 weeks on that genre-specific list only last time around.
