Evanescence is back in full force on the Billboard charts this week with a new single, “Who Will You Follow.” The tune, the second song released from the band’s upcoming sixth album Sanctuary, due in early June, debuts on eight rankings in America, and it is an instant top 10 smash on half of them.

The release of “Who Will You Follow” reminded fans across America how much they love Evanescence, and as that cut launches, several fan favorites become bestsellers all over again.

Evanescence’s “Afterlife” Returns to Multiple Charts

Evanescence’s most impressive comeback at the moment is “Afterlife,” the first song shared from Sanctuary. When the group delivered the tune more than a year ago, it served as a promotional cut attached to the Netflix series Devil May Cry, but now it appears that it will also be included on the upcoming full-length.

“Afterlife” reenters three similar rosters: the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales (No. 5), Alternative Digital Song Sales (No. 8), and Rock Digital Song Sales (No. 12) charts. The cut has previously topped out in the runner-up rung on the list of the bestselling hard rock tunes in the U.S. and at No. 5 on both the Alternative Digital Song Sales and Rock Digital Song Sales tallies.

“Bring Me to Life” Reenters One Billboard List

“Bring Me to Life,” Evanescence’s first single and the group’s biggest to this date, reenters only one ranking, the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. On that list, “Bring Me to Life” appears at No. 7, 353 weeks into its time on the tally.

Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life” Holds on Several Tallies

“Afterlife” did not live on any Billboard chart last week, but the same can’t be said for “Bring Me to Life,” which also credits the musician Paul McCoy, who lent his vocals to the track. Evanescence’s breakout smash holds at No. 4 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs list, while simultaneously falling on both the Billboard Global 200 (No. 134) and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. (No. 154), the company’s two worldwide rundowns.

Evanescence Earns Its Sixth No. 1

Evanescence earns its sixth No. 1 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart as “Who Will You Follow” arrives. The Sanctuary single joins “Bring Me to Life,” “What You Want,” “Wasted on You,” “The Game Is Over,” and “Fight Like a Girl,” a collaboration with K.Flay, which have all taken turns ruling.

Of that bunch, only the first two spent more than one stint running the show. “Bring Me to Life” racked up a total of 15 turns at No. 1, more than all of the group’s other leaders combined – times two.

Evanescence Debuts Atop the Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart

In addition to the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, “Who Will You Follow” also kicks off its time at No. 1 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs tally. Unlike the sales-only list, the Hot Hard Rock Songs roster also takes into account streams and radio airplay, as is the case with all of Billboard’s Hot-labeled lists. Amazingly, Evanescence earns its first leader with its newest single, despite being one of the genre’s most prominent names for more than two decades.

Evanescence’s “Who Will You Follow” Launches

“Who Will You Follow” is an immediate top 10 on not only the Hot Hard Rock Songs and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts, but also the Alternative Digital Song Sales and Rock Digital Song Sales rankings, where it joins “Afterlife.” Evanescence starts “Who Will You Follow” in second place on the alternative rundown and at No. 3 on the rock-only ranking.

“Who Will You Follow” also launches within the top 40 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay (No. 19), Digital Song Sales (No. 22), Mainstream Rock Airplay (No. 23), and the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs charts (No. 37).
