‘Fallout’ Season 2 Arrives With 100% Critics’ Score On Rotten Tomatoes

“Fallout” is back with Season 2, starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten and Kyle MacLachlan, and Rotten Tomatoes Critics are loving it so far.

Fallout Season 2 kicks off Tuesday night on Prime Video. The official synopsis for Fallout Season 2 reads, “The new season of Fallout will pick up in the aftermath of Season 1’s epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.

All of the main character are back for Season 2, including Lucy MacLean (Purnell), The Ghoul (Goggins), Maximus (Moten) and Hank MacLean (MacLachlan). New to the cast this season is Justin Theroux as the villainous Robert House and Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani in guest roles.

As of the publication of this article, Fallout Season 2 has a 100% “fresh” critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 25 reviews. That score, of course, is bound to change as more reviews are posted, but at this rate it appears that the series will be just as critically acclaimed as Fallout Season 1.

The RT Critics Consensus, audience summary and Popcornmeter score are still pending.

What Are Individual Critics Saying About ‘Fallout’ Season 2?

Kelly Lawler is among the top critics on RT who gives Season 2 a “fresh” score, writing, “Fallout remains a show that glories in high contrast visuals, emotions and characters.”

William Goldman of The Wrap, meanwhile, writes in his “fresh” review summary, “The sophomore outing of Fallout might have a few shaky rounds to start the evening out, but across the latter portion of its season, it’s poised to go on quite the run before it leaves the table for the night. In short, Season 2 is well worth the ante up.”

Chase Hutchinson of the Seattle Times is also high on the series, writing in his “fresh” review summary on RT, “Not only does it boast gut-splittingly funny jokes, but it’s outdone an already strong first season by boldly venturing out to explore some bigger ideas.”

In addition, Aramide Tinbu gives the second season a “fresh” score on RT, writing, “While Season 2 isn’t as structurally tight as the first one was, the secrets and revelations unveiled here will keep viewers glued to their screens.”

Fallout Season 1 received a 93% “fresh” rating from RT critics based on 133 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus for the season reads, “An adaptation that feels like a true extension of the games, Fallout is a post-apocalyptic blast for newcomers and longtime fans alike.”

Audiences also gave Fallout a 93% “fresh” Popcornmeter score on RT based on 5,000-plus verified user ratings.

Fallout Season 2 begins streaming Tuesday night on Prime Video.
