FC Barcelona has confirmed the exit of Barça Femini star player Salma Paralluelo through an official statement released around midday on Tuesday in Catalonia.

“Salma Paralluelo has decided to leave FC Barcelona at the end of her contract, on June 30, 2026,” the correspondence began.

“Therefore, the Aragonese leaves the Club after four seasons as a Barça player, over which she has added a total of 15 titles: three Champions Leagues, four La Ligas, three Queen’s Cups, four Super Cups and one Catalan Cup,” it added.

At an international level, Paralluelo is the first ever player to have won all three World Cups across the U-17, U-20 and senior brackets with Spain.

Barça noted the forward’s impressive tally of 72 goals in 131 games – two of which came in the recent 4-0 Champions League drubbing of Lyon, which gave the Catalans their fourth title in the European competition.

Femini, the women’s team, has reached all six finals since 2020/2021, with an impressive 4-2 tally in its favor.

Salma landed at Barça from Villarreal at just 18 years of age, and has always stood out for what her now former club called “explosiveness and physical superiority”.

Able to play a number of positions, she’s impressed on either wing, as a striker, and even as a left-back.

“FC Barcelona would like to thank Salma Paralluelo for her commitment, dedication and contribution during these four seasons wearing the Barça shirt. The Club wishes her the best of luck in this new stage,” the statement finished, after mentioning her exploits in Oslo.

Salma is the latest big name exit from FC Barcelona’s women’s team

The Spain international is the latest big name to leave FC Barcelona after the legendary Alexia Putellas announced she would a month ago.

Alexia has decided to join the London City Lionesses according to several outlets including the BBC. Meanwhile, Salma has also been linked to the Lionesses, Paris Saint-Germain, and Lyon.

Ona Battle is another Femini star that has left Barça and is currently without a club, while Mapi Leon has announced her farewell too.

As the world’s best women’s team by some distance this decade, FC Barcelona Femini will go through a phase of reconstruction by looking inwards at its La Masia academy. It should build a team around serial Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati, who has a contract until June 30, 2028.
