Shasta Groene was eight years old when, in May 2005, she and her brother Dylan were kidnapped by serial killer Joseph Edward Duncan III after he killed her mother, her mother’s boyfriend, and her older brother Slade. Against all odds she survived being held captive – despite being tortured for over six weeks. Twenty years later, she teamed up with New York Times bestselling author Gregg Olsen to share her story.
