Love Island USA may be wrapping up, but another binge-worthy reality show, Big Brother, is just getting started. Season 28 officially premieres on Thursday, July 9, with another dramatic summer of competitions, blindsides, showmances and strategic gameplay.

The long-running CBS reality competition follows a group of strangers living together in a custom-built house completely cut off from the outside world. Surrounded by more than 100 cameras and microphones, the houseguests are monitored around the clock as they compete in challenges, form alliances, avoid eviction and battle for the $750,000 grand prize.

This year’s theme is “Big Brother: Time Trip,” which features new time-bending twists inspired by different nostalgic eras. CBS teased that the theme was influenced by “decades like the ’80s and ’90s and cultural touchstones like Y2K” and will transport houseguests “across moments in time – past, present, and future.”

The series is also celebrating a major milestone with its 1,000th original episode. Julie Chen Moonves, who has hosted the show since its debut in 2000, returns for Season 28.

Moonves will be joined by 14 houseguests, including an MMA fighter, a two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race competitor, a Survivor 50 star, a rocket scientist, a surgical dental assistant, a pickleball coach, an elementary school counselor and more.
