HYBE has recently announced that Zooil Yang will become the new President of Weverse Company, the company behind the global super fan platform Weverse, on June 1, as Joon Choi steps down.
Yang began his career as a developer at the tech company NHN, which he later served as CEO of, overseeing its subsidiaries, including Tickerlink, Bugs, and Travel Doctor. He joined KakaoTalk as vice president and moved within the company, becoming CEO of Kakao’s blockchain affiliate, Ground X. His most recent position before joining Weverse was CEO of AXZ, an AI-powered content, internet, and platform company.
The corporation recently introduced its new mission statement: “DISCOVER A NEW UNIVERSE, UNLOCK AN IMMERSIVE JOURNEY,” which focuses on providing immersive experiences through artists, content, and services for the fans. It plans to focus on both music and technology, as the latter will push their “commitment to advancing the industry by incorporating necessary technology to expand the boundaries of the fan experience.”
According to the press release, Yang brings his experience in platform and digital services to the company to support Weverse’s growth strategy. As one of the leading superfan platforms in the entertainment industry, the company plans to further enhance its services and strengthen its business execution.

Weverse was recently listed in Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2026 for its social media category. Since its launch in 2019, Weverse has become the global superfan platform that connects artists with their fans through innovative services – Weverse Community, Weverse LIVE, Weverse Albums, Digital Membership with added perks, Listening Parties (with support from Spotify), and Weverse SHOP, giving fans access to Official Artist merchandise.
As of April 2026, Weverse hosts 180 global artist communities, including BTS, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, BLACKPINK, PLAVE, STAYC, P1Harmony, RIIZE, Megan Thee Stallion, The Kid LAROI, Conan Gray, LAUV, Gracie Abrams, Dua Lipa, and more, and has an average of 10 million monthly active users across 245 countries and regions. This past March, Filipino superstars SB19 and BINI joined the superfan platform, becoming the first P-Pop stars to do so.
Last month, HYBE reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, with its highest-ever first-quarter revenue of KRW 698.3 billion (~$464 million USD), driven by BTS’s comeback and tour. Weverse Company also reached its highest-ever engagement levels and strong profitability growth on their platform, with a record 13.37 million in its first quarter, and is expected to grow even further with BTS’s return.
