Jason Aldean began promoting Songs About Us, his twelfth album, in September 2025. The project was introduced with the single “How Far Does a Goodbye Go,” and the full-length arrived the following April. Songs About Us did not turn out to be a major win for the country superstar. In fact, it marked his lowest-peaking project on the Billboard 200 in more than two decades. Only his self-titled debut, which topped out at No. 37, stalled in a lower spot.

Despite the fact that Aldean’s most recent collection is not one of his biggest, “Don’t Tell on Me,” the latest single from the project, rises to No. 1 on a Billboard chart this week. As it conquers one competitive rundown, Aldean breaks out of a tie with several other genre favorites and moves up on an important all-time ranking.

Jason Aldean Rules Country Radio With “Don’t Tell on Me”

“Don’t Tell on Me” is No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart this week. The tune rises just one space to conquer the longest and one of the busiest radio tallies published in America each week. As it climbs, Aldean earns his twenty-seventh leader on the Country Airplay rundown.

Here are all of Jason Aldean’s No. 1s on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart.

  • “A Little More Summertime”
  • “Any Ol’ Barstool”
  • “Big Green Tractor”
  • “Blame It on You”
  • “Burnin’ It Down”
  • “Dirt Road Anthem”
  • “Don’t Tell on Me”
  • “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson
  • “Drowns the Whiskey” with Miranda Lambert
  • “Fly Over States”
  • “Girl Like You”
  • “Got What I Got”
  • “How Far Does a Goodbye Go”
  • “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood
  • “Just Gettin’ Started”
  • “Lights Come On”
  • “Night Train”
  • “Rearview Town”
  • “She’s Country”
  • “Take a Little Ride”
  • “The Only Way I Know” with Luke Bryan and Eric Church
  • “The Truth”
  • “Tonight Looks Good on You”
  • “Trouble with a Heartbreak”
  • “When She Says Baby”
  • “Why”
  • “You Make It Easy”

Jason Aldean Claims the Fourth-Most Country No. 1s

With one more champion on the Country Airplay chart now included in his discography, Aldean stands alone and claims the fourth-most rulers of all time. Before “Don’t Tell on Me” stepped up to the summit, he was matched with Alan Jackson, George Strait and Luke Bryan, all of whom claim 26 winners. Just days ago, the four men were jointly tied for the fourth-most No. 1s of all time, but now Jackson, Strait and Bryan dip to share the honor of the fifth-most, while Aldean stands alone with the fourth-most rulers.

Jason Aldean Trails Tim McGraw

Aldean is only two No. 1s behind country legend Tim McGraw. Recently, Blake Shelton passed McGraw and became one of only two artists to rack up 30 No. 1s on the Country Airplay roster. Kenny Chesney continues to lead all stars with 33 chart-toppers.

“Don’t Tell on Me” Reaches the Hot Country Songs Top 10

At the same time that “Don’t Tell on Me” reaches the pinnacle of the Country Airplay chart, it also finally cracks the top 10 on the Hot Country Songs ranking. It seems that plays on country radio stations – one of three metrics that build all “Hot”-labeled rankings published by Billboard, in addition to sales and streams – is doing most of the work in turning “Don’t Tell on Me” into a Hot Country Songs top 10. This time around, 18 weeks into its time on the roster, Aldean’s latest pushes from No. 11 to No. 9. It does not currently appear on either the Country Streaming Songs list, and Billboard recently dropped the Country Digital Song Sales tally entirely.

Jason Aldean Has Charted Dozens of Country Top 10s

Throughout his career, Aldean has landed 68 pieces of music on the Hot Country Songs chart. 38 of those have found their way into the top 10, and he’s earned a milestone 10 No. 1s. For the moment, “Don’t Tell on Me” is Aldean’s only composition to stall at No. 9.

Jason Aldean Nears a First Radio Songs Chart Top 10

Shockingly, while Aldean is one of the most successful artists of all time on the Country Airplay chart, he has yet to score even one top 10 hit on the all-style Radio Songs ranking. This frame, “Don’t Tell on Me” advances to a new high of No. 12, tying “Whiskey Drink” as his second highest-ranking smash.

Only “How Far Does a Goodbye Go,” the only other single featured on Songs About Us, has lifted to a more impressive position on the Radio Songs chart. That song topped out at No. 11 in February of this year. If radio stations continue to adopt “Don’t Tell on Me” and put the song into heavy rotation, Aldean could soon crack the uppermost region for the first time.

“Don’t Tell on Me” Hits the Top 40

All the attention that “Don’t Tell on Me” has been receiving via country radio helps the single rise on the Billboard Hot 100. This frame, Aldean’s cut breaks into the top 40, surging more than 10 spaces from No. 47 to No. 36. It outpaces the No. 37 peak of “How Far Does a Goodbye Go” by only one spot.
