Kiss performed what was reportedly – at least at the time – the band’s final show in December 2023 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The group, which had been recording and releasing music and playing live for decades, finally said goodbye, although a farewell from Kiss apparently means something very different from when other acts say the same thing.
In the years since then, Kiss member Ace Frehley passed away in October 2025 after a traumatic brain injury. The remaining members have stated that many special brand extensions are in the works, including a cartoon series and an avatar-style live show similar to what ABBA pioneered in London.
While no new music has been announced, Kiss also has not ruled anything out. The band is back on the charts in the United Kingdom with a Record Store Day release titled A Special Kiss Tour Album. Due to its short length – only four songs are included on the effort – the title launches on a trio of singles tallies, earning the hard rock favorites a rare hit.

The A Special Kiss Tour Album – really an EP, though its official title includes the word “album” – was originally released in the ’70s, and for Record Store Day it was shared on vinyl. This week, the project debuts on three sales rankings in the U.K.: the Official Vinyl Singles (No. 35), Official Physical Singles (No. 36), and Official Singles Sales charts (No. 61).
All of those rundowns are inundated with Record Store Day releases, but Kiss impressively manages to see its latest offering open as a top 40 bestseller on nearly every one of them.
Kiss’ A Special Kiss Tour Album Reaches a New Sales Peak
Kiss hits a new career peak on the Official Singles Sales chart, but only barely. A Special Kiss Tour Album beats the No. 63 high that “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” reached after it debuted on the list of the bestselling tracks – or in this case, very short sets – in November 2023.
Kiss Doubles Its Chart Appearances with a New Win
The group also doubles its total number of wins on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts, although A Special Kiss Tour Album does not mark a new peak for the band. In April 2021, “Down on Your Knees” broke into the top 10, and the rockers have not scored another placement on either of those tallies until now.
Kiss’ A Special Kiss Tour Album Arrives as Collector’s Item
According to Record Store Day, A Special Kiss Tour Album was offered for sale on 12-inch splattered black and white vinyl. That detail helped make it a must-own for diehard followers of the group, as well as the fact that the EP has never been made available commercially to the public before. The title comes with a special jacket and includes the songs “Beth,” “Do You Love Me,” “Flaming Youth,” and the classic “Detroit Rock City.”
